Senator Coleman Agrees: RIAA's Tactics Are Wrong
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
Just in case you think I'm the only one railing on the Police State tactics of the RIAA, here's an online debate transcript that shows Senator Norm Coleman's thoughts on the subject. Maybe we'll see legislation someday that puts the RIAA back in their little box where they belong. Or, perhaps, the RIAA will just be out of business before any of that happens.
Analysis: It's one thing when the public is at odds with a business entity like the RIAA; it's quite another when Senators jump into the fray. Expect the RIAA to start pulling its punches to avoid sparring with legislators over its abusive application of the DMCA.
Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) was online to talk about his efforts to rein in
the recording industry's aggressive legal war against people who
illegally trade music online.
Having failed in efforts to shut down networks like Kazaa and Morpheus,
the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has mounted a legal
blitz against individuals who trade songs online.
I've noted publicly that law and technology in this area seem out of
sync.
