Even artificial sweeteners may lead to weight gain; nutritionists advise dieters to just 'pull your sweet tooth'
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
As evidence is growing that even artificial, zero calorie, sweeteners can lead to weight gain, nutrition experts say it's time for dieters to just "pull your sweet tooth." They say that some minerals such as magnesium, zinc, chromium and vanadium are good for keeping sweet-tooth cravings at bay. And, if all else fails, a strict, no-sugar diet is not a bad idea.
If artificial sweeteners are linked causally to greater body weight and increased caloric intake, and consumption of sugary foods is linked to the same consequence, what's a body to do?
Several minerals are used to regulate blood sugar and diminish sugar cravings, such as magnesium, zinc, chromium and vanadium.
You may also adopt a "no sugar at all" policy, to break a strong sugar addiction.
Reducing your sugar intake, along with normalizing mineral levels will not only reduce overall body weight but reduce risk factors for metabolic syndrome, a key risk factor in the development of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
