USDA won't stop use of illegal hormones in the veal industry; cancer rates skyrocket in humans

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

In yet more news revealing the horrifying activities of the U.S. beef industry, it has recently been publicized that ranchers are routinely pumping veal calves full of illegal hormones in an effort to get them to grow faster. The USDA acts "shocked" about this, but in fact, this practice is common knowledge in the veal industry. Initially, the USDA declared all calves that have been dosed with these illegal hormones should be banned from the food supply, but it quickly backed down after veal growers protested. Now, the USDA is allowing all hormone-dosed veal calves to be used in the human food supply, but it says to the ranchers, "Don't do it anymore."

So what's the risk to humans? These hormones are passed right through the veal and into the bodies of consumers where they are suspected of accelerating the growth of cancer cells and substantially increasing the risk of both prostate cancer and breast cancer. The veal industry, of course, couldn't care less: your cancer is your problem, they seem to be saying. They just want to sell more veal.

And the USDA? It refuses to enforce laws and regulations prohibiting the use of these hormones. Rather than acting to protect consumers, the USDA consistently acts to protect the beef industry. It has even aided in the ongoing cover-up of mad cow disease by falsifying laboratory tests, fraudulently altering records and pressuring USDA veterinarians to lie about events. Make no mistake: the USDA is a highly corrupt agency that's putting the public health at risk. These actions are nothing short of criminal and should be treated as such.
