Billionnaire puts his money into longevity research

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

The search is on in the longevity industry. In the last decade, phenomenal breakthroughs have made the idea of life extension a reality rather than a joke. But don't tell Western medical doctors: they still largely mock the idea of anti-aging or anything that smacks of longevity.

But a few pioneers are forging ahead anyway. This article is about billionaire John Sperling and his quest to put his money into a search for anti-aging solutions. It's an interesting move, no doubt. Yet the best payoff today seems to be in nutrition and physical fitness to postpone aging in the first place. A person who is following a healthy diet, engaging in regular physical exercise, and consuming a variety of superfood supplements like chlorella or bee pollen is going to live much longer than everybody else... and for a lot less than $3 billion.

Still, kudos to Sperling for putting his money into something that stands to produce significant benefits for humankind.

In 1994, John Sperling rubbed the lamp, and his company went public. For the past seven years, Sperling has quietly assembled an unorthodox team of researchers poised to use all relevant technology - including, ultimately, therapeutic cloning, stem cell medicine, and genetic engineering - to alleviate human suffering and the fear of death. Used to create an endowment, Sperling's money would generate at least $150 million a year - forever. His first move was to form Kronos Group, a for-profit medical practice catering to the wealthy. To do that, Sperling formed a holding company called Exeter Life Sciences in 2001, installed Thatcher as president, and began to acquire biotech companies.
