UPS sends packages through the mail cheaper than the US Postal Service

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

The U.S. Postal Service is a glaring example of terrible service, bad management, and a government-operated waste of taxpayer money. Kudos to United Parcel Service for creating some competition in the market.

Thanks to bizarre regulations at the USPS, it turns out that UPS can actually deliver packages through the postal service at a lower price than the postal service can, itself, offer to customers. And that, friends, takes the cake as one of the best examples of how backwards the U.S. Postal Service really is.

The U.S. Postal Service offers bad service, long waiting lines, needless paperwork and slow delivery of packages. UPS, in contrast, offers fast delivery, hard-working employees and smart management. In college, I loaded packages for UPS, and I can tell you that nobody sits around twiddling their fingers at UPS. They get the job done.

United Parcel Service is quietly rolling out a new low-cost service that uses the U.S. Postal Service to make the final delivery of some of its packages, according to a published report. The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday that UPS, the world's largest transportation company, is calling the new program "UPS Basic." UPS will deliver packages in bulk to the post office nearest the final destination, allowing the post office to handle the package's costly final delivery. Due to a discount program that the USPS offers all package consolidators, UPS is able to undercut the prices that even the post office can offer to the business customers UPS is targeting.
