America's 'ally' and Human Rights Council member Saudi Arabia to behead teenager for attending protest at 15 years old

Saudi Arabia

(NaturalNews) One of America's strongest allies in the Middle East, and a major provider of much of our nation's oil, is planning to serve up a death sentence to a boy who at 15 years old was caught protesting against government corruption.

Teenager Abdullah ah-Zaher will reportedly become the youngest person to ever be given the death sentence in Saudi Arabia, once he's eventually beheaded, according to the U.K.-based Express. The now 19-year-old is currently sitting in solitary confinement awaiting his punishment.

The crime, according to reports, was ah-Zaher's participation in a 2012 protest, at which time he was apprehended, beaten and tortured by police. Ironically, the goal of the protest was to raise awareness about Saudi Arabia's culture of repression and abuse.

For being a member of the international Human Rights Council, Saudi Arabia has a dirty legacy of Sharia law human rights abuses which ah-Zaher and his co-protesters were bravely challenging four years ago when they were apprehended by authorities.

According to the campaign group Reprieve, the Saudi government not only inflicted bodily harm on ah-Zaher for his political dissent, but also forced him to sign papers that had been forged to harass and intimidate him.

These are not actions representative of a free government supposedly allied with America and its democratically-led republic. And Reprieve is hoping the world will pay attention to what's going on in this hotbed of abuse and terrorism, and speak out against it.

"The Saudi government is very repressive, and a lot of people choose not to go public because of the risk of harassment by the authorities," the group said in a statement. "It seems Abdullah's family feel they have nothing to lose."

Saudi Arabia routinely executes citizens for speaking out against government evil

During the first half of 2015, some 102 people were executed in Saudi Arabia, many for reasons that in other nations would never even come close to warranting a death sentence. At the current time, ah-Zaher is among about 50 other prisoners who are also set to be executed in the coming weeks.

Concerning the protest for which ah-Zaher is now being punished, at least two others who were with the boy at the time he was apprehended are also being held in confinement. All of them are awaiting their executions.

"What we know from the families of the three is that they are in solitary confinement and being prepared for execution," added Reprieve. "They have been moved and undergone medical examinations, which seem to suggest their beheading is imminent."

Since being taken into custody, ah-Zaher's health has rapidly deteriorated, according to his father. The boy also wasn't even fully aware of what the protest was about, though he is being presumed guilty of some non-existent crime without ever having been properly examined and tried.

It's the antithesis of what America's founding fathers envisioned when they crafted the Bill of Rights to our Constitution, which are meant to protect us from this type of government abuse. And yet, our nation has financially and politically aligned itself with this totalitarian regime, inadvertently supporting the types of human rights abuses that lead to teenagers being executed for government dissent.

"Please help me save my son from the imminent threat of death," petitioned ah-Zaher's father in a public plea. "He doesn't deserve to die just because he participated in a protest rally."
