UT students wave dildos and fart machines to oppose those who support self-defense on campus

(NaturalNews) "No smart people from the Northeast are going to come here," said a University of Texas college student protesting the mock shooting held in Austin, Texas, on Saturday. His comment was in response to an open carry march and "theatrical mass shooting" held by two gun rights groups near the UT campus, which involved the use of "brightly colored" cardboard cutout guns, crisis actors and fake blood – a demonstration the UT student said would deter people from attending the university.

Countering the event were about 50 protesters who spent their Saturday waving dildos and playing fart sounds. Rather than presenting a mature argument against the pro-gun rights activists, protesters made a mockery of the Constitution – namely the Second Amendment – responding to promotion of it with fart noises. One student even had a bicycle with a sub-woofer attached that DJ'd the protesters' rally with music made from fart sounds.

Organized by Don't Comply and Come and Take It Texas, Saturday's event served to generate awareness regarding the dangers of "gun-free" zones – the primary targets of mass shootings. By changing the location of the mock shooting at the last minute, demonstrators proved that response time for emergency personnel often takes a minimum of 10 minutes.

Mass shootings do not occur when or where you expect them to, said Murdoch Pizgatti, president and co-founder of Don't Comply. They normally take people by surprise, he added.

The theatrical mass shooting was essentially completed by the time law enforcement arrived. All that remained was smeared ketchup and chalk drawings of bodies where the crisis actors had fallen during the mock shooting, with Don'tComply.com written on the sidewalk's perimeter.

However, it was all washed away when the protesters finally discovered the location of the mock shooting, descending on the sidewalk where it had taken place. An older woman – who looked like she may have been UT faculty – wore a stern face while using a mop, bucket and scrubbing brush to aggressively erase the drawings on the sidewalk.

Meanwhile, protesters repeatedly chanted, "This is what a democracy looks like," while holding signs that read: "A gassy society is a polite society," "Our history is not a joke," and "Arm all brown people."

One UT student held a Cheerios box in one hand and a bright pink dildo in the other, as she listened intently to the "fart leader's" instructions. The fart party continued for quite some time, and long after the mock mass shooting was complete.

Police presence remained high during the event, although they did not interrupt it, instead sitting by idly. One officer with the Austin Police Department confirmed that they absolutely support First Amendment rights, adding, "We support the right to protest."



Saturday's open carry march and theatrical mass shooting drew national media attention, drawing immense criticism from the leftist media, a huge advocate of "gun-free" zones. Despite there being a smaller than expected turnout for the open carry march, reporters from dozens of media companies flocked to the event, seemingly impressed and weary of the weapons worn by the open carry marchers.

The dildo wavers and farters will likely be out in full force again next summer when a new open carry law goes into effect. In Aug. 2016, CHL holders will be able to open carry inside UT classrooms and other campus buildings, whereas before they were only permitted to open carry on campus, Natural News reported last week.

Pizgatti says he and other gun rights activists firmly believe that the new law will protect Texas universities from the possibility of mass shootings.

"If we look at all of these mass shootings, these gun-free zones are picked for a reason," said Pizgatti. "Like in the Aurora shooting, him passing up two theaters that allowed guns inside until he got to the gun-free zone theater. This is the one common thing in all these mass shootings and it's a gun-free zone.

"So having just that chance that there could be someone armed, is enough for someone who has bad intentions of doing harm is going to go somewhere else," he added.
