Million-dollar links between GMO industry and media propaganda revealed

GMOs

(NaturalNews) U.S. Right to Know, a major nonprofit organization working on behalf of consumers to expose food industry fraud and improve food labeling transparency, is under attack for launching an investigation into who runs and funds the powerful pro-GMO public relations machine.

The Guardian (U.K.) recently criticized RtK for filing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to identify taxpayer-paid professors and others with financial ties to the biotechnology industry. The three authors of the Guardian article all have financial ties to Big Biotech themselves, it turns out, and none of them are honest enough to disclose this publicly.

Nina Federoff, "an Evan Pugh Professor at Penn State University," is also an employee at OFW Law, a lobbying firm that promotes the interests of the Council for Biotechnology Information. CBI's members include all the major GMO players -- BASF, Bayer CropScience, Dow AgroSciences, DuPont, Syngenta, and of course Monsanto.

Another author, Peter Raven, is listed as Director Emeritus of the Missouri Botanical Garden. MBG is so in bed with Monsanto that it has both a Monsanto Center and Monsanto Hall. The world's most evil corporation has also donated at least $10 million to MBG over the past 40 years for "key capital, science and education projects." Peter Raven even has his own library on the fourth floor of the Monsanto Center.

And then there's Phillip Sharp from the David H. Koch Institute at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The Koch Institute, as you may already know, is a heavy promoter of GMOs as well as vaccines, and Sharp himself even founded his own biotech company known as Biogen.

GMO-worshipping Gates Foundation behind aggressive attacks against GMO labeling, testing

Each of these individuals would like the world to believe that they're all reputable scientists fighting without bias for common-sense causes like "feeding the world" and "protecting the environment." But in truth, they're all just a bunch of swindling corporate hacks doing the bidding of Big Ag and Big Biotech.

And they're well funded, according to RtK, which has uncovered millions of dollars in hidden cash flow greasing the wheels of the far reaching biotech lobby. One of RtK's most prominent aggressors, the Cornell Alliance for Science, is directly funded by the GMO- and vaccine-promoting sham nonprofit the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

According to CAS, the group received a large $5.6 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation early last year, which says a lot as this Bill Gates brainchild organization heavily promotes and invests in both the agrichemical and biotechnology industries. Also worth noting is the fact that Gates Foundation CEO Sue Desmond-Hellman previously worked at the biotech company Genentech for 14 years.

"The Cornell Alliance for Science says that their 'goal' is to 'depolarize the GMO debate,'" explains RtK. "[B]ut attacking our consumer group is an odd way to 'depolarize' the debate over the health and environmental effects of genetically engineered food and crops."

Support Right to Know's efforts to require GMO labeling in US

With untold millions of dollars being thrown at the pro-GMO lobby on a regular basis, the pro-transparency and pro-honesty movements, including RtK, are in dire need of support. After all, it's you and your family's access to clean, GMO-free food that's on the line every time one of the major power players like the Gates Foundation or the "American Association for the Advancement of Science" contributes major funding toward deceiving the public about GMO safety and effectiveness.
