In the search for healthy whey protein powders, I've gone through many brands and many products, trying to find a whey protein product that met all my criteria for being a healthful, great-tasting product. My criteria are as follows: it must be free of bovine growth hormones (found in many dairy products); it must taste fantastic; it must mix easily with a spoon, without clumping up in your drink; it must contain absolutely no artificial chemical sweeteners, such as aspartame or sucralose; it must contain no refined carbohydrates such as fructose, sucrose or brown rice syrup; and finally, it must be from a reputable company that is genuinely interested in good health.

Now, that's a tall order when it comes to finding whey protein powders, and I've gone through literally dozens of products trying to find this combination. Recently, however, I found a product that meets all these criteria, and I've been using it successfully for several months. This product is called Jay Robb's Whey Protein, and it's available in chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla flavors. Just so you know, Jay Robb is not aware that his product is being reviewed here, and we have not received any advertising funds or promotional funds of any kind from Jay Robb's company. In fact, all the product reviews you see on this site are unsolicited and unpaid. I simply review the products that I feel passionate about, and that I personally use and know to be of superior quality. Jay Robb's Whey Protein definitely fits the bill.

One of the best things about this product is that it is sweetened with stevia. Stevia is the number one sweetener of choice, and it's one that I strongly recommend to everyone. Given the numerous health consequences caused by the consumption of refined carbohydrates and added sugars, it is critical that people concerned with their health avoid those ingredients. At the same time, chemical sweeteners, such as aspartame and sucralose, are also known to cause a variety of health problems (especially aspartame), and so should be avoided as well. That makes it very difficult to find a sweetener that can be safely used in nutritional supplements and food products. But stevia is the perfect solution. It is derived from an herb, it does not alter blood sugar levels, and it tastes fantastic.

The other thing I like about Jay Robb's Whey Protein is that it's made without hormones. It is a hormone-free product, and I think this is absolutely essential for people who want to maintain optimum health. Far too many of the products derived from dairy sources contain bovine growth hormones that are injected into cows in the United States in order to increase their production of milk. These hormones have been banned in other countries such as Canada and the UK, but they are still allowed in the United States, primarily due to the influence of the dairy industry and its ability control the regulatory decisions of the USDA. But even though these hormones are still legal to use in the United States, they are not healthy, and they're something that you certainly don't want to put in your body. So when searching for whey protein powders, it's important to find whey protein that comes from hormone-free dairy sources -- and remember that whey protein is derived from the whey of cow's milk.

When you purchase a Jay Robb Whey Protein product and try it for the first time, you may have the same thought that I did when I first tried the product: I said, 'The ingredients label must be wrong. They have to be using sweeteners other than stevia -- this product tastes fantastic!' Well, as it turns out, the label is correct. It's just that the product is formulated with the right amount of stevia (and the right amount of sweet whey protein) to offer a delicious taste that is unmatched in the world of whey protein supplements. In fact, I can genuinely say this is the best-tasting whey protein product I've ever tried -- and I've tried quite a few.

But there's more to like about it than just its taste, and the fact that it uses ideal ingredients. I like the company behind this product as well. Jay Robb is a certified clinical nutritionist who's been attempting to educate people about the importance of nutrition and strength training for well over a decade. He's earned his right to speak with authority on these subjects, and is someone who personally follows what he teaches, just as I do. When Jay Robb talks about the benefits of strength training, he's also strength training his own body and proving that working out can make you younger, healthier and more vibrant. When Jay Robb talks about nutrition and the importance of avoiding processed foods, he follows that advice himself, and he has the low levels of body fat to prove it. Jay Robb knows how to lose weight, how to build lean body mass, how to be a healthy, vibrant person, and I believe also that Jay Robb practices his business and his personal life with a high degree of personal integrity - -and that's something that's a rarity in today's profit-driven business environment.

Even though I've not met Jay Robb personally, he is someone that I don't hesitate to recommend. I've read his books, I've read his website, and I use his products. I get a good sense of where Jay is coming from, and what he is attempting to accomplish. In fact, it's fair to say that he and I have quite a bit in common. One thing you may not like about the Jay Robb Whey Protein products, however, is the price. These are perhaps the most expensive whey protein powders you'll find on the market. But if you're looking for cheap products rather than good products, you have a multitude of choices. I'm here recommending the best product for you in terms of health and ingredients, and it costs money to manufacture quality products. This is a high-priced product because it is a quality product, and I've never let price stand in the way of my own good health, nor do I recommend that you make price your number one priority when shopping for nutritional supplements.

It's okay to seek out discounts on haircuts and blue jeans, but it's not okay to attempt to get discounts on foods that you put in your body. When it comes to your health, you want the highest quality, healthiest, most natural products available, and I believe that Jay Robb's Whey Protein provides exactly that. The bottom line to all this is that Jay Robb's Whey Protein Powders are the best whey protein powders I've found yet, and I give them my highest recommendation. I use them personally on a daily basis, and I believe they offer the highest quality, most nutritionally sound source of whey protein available on the market today.
