U.S. hospitals to be flooded with Ebola patients imported from West Africa

by J. D. Heyes

(NaturalNews) As word around Washington, D.C., spreads that President Obama plans some sort of executive action on amnesty for millions of people in the U.S. illegally, a noted government watchdog has said that the president may be planning something far more ominous: bringing scores of patients sick with the Ebola virus into U.S. hospitals.

According to the group Judicial Watch, which made a name for itself exposing scandals during the Clinton Administration, "sources" have told JW staff that Obama is preparing to do just that:

Judicial Watch has learned that the Obama administration is actively formulating plans to admit Ebola-infected non-U.S. citizens into the United States for treatment. Specifically, the goal of the administration is to bring Ebola patients into the United States for treatment within the first days of diagnosis.

The organization said it was not clear who would pick up the tab for the "high costs" of treating such highly contagious patients after moving them all the way to the U.S. from Africa, but it would most likely be American taxpayers.

JW reported that its sources say executive action could include "special waivers of laws and regulations" that currently prevent the admission of non-citizens to the country who are sick with highly communicable (and deadly) diseases.

"One source tells us that the Obama administration is keeping this plan secret from Congress," JW reported. "The source is concerned that the proposal is illegal; endangers the public health and welfare; and should require the approval of Congress."

The most dangerous part of Obama's alleged plan, however, is the fact that most U.S. hospitals are simply not ready to handle Biosafety Level 4 diseases like Ebola, which has no known cure and requires workers to wear very specialized, highly expensive outerwear and gear when treating infected patients.

Hospitals in the U.S. are not prepared for this outbreak

In fact, according to some hospital administrators, the cost of equipping their hospitals to handle Ebola patients would likely lead many to fail financially. One administrator of a southern California hospital said following a conference call with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that the agency's Ebola preparation requirements would "bankrupt my hospital." That was reported by former New York Lt. Gov. Betsy McCaughey, Ph.D., currently the CEO of Defend Your Healthcare, who was on the conference call.

News of Obama's alleged proposal comes on the heels of cautious optimism by some U.S. officials, especially those in Dallas, after five days of no reports of new Ebola cases. "We are breathing a little bit easier, but we are still holding our breath," Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said, according to Agence France-Presse (AFP).

"This is a crucial milestone for the city of Dallas and for concerned persons across the United States," Mark Rupp, an infectious disease specialist at Nebraska Medical Center, told AFP. His facility has treated two U.S. Ebola patients after they were infected in Liberia this year. "I hope this reinforces the message that the public is safe and that Ebola is not very infectious in its early stages."

Range of incubation periods

That said, additional information that has been reported since the U.S. outbreak claims that http://www.naturalnews.com.

Earlier this month, Natural News editor Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, quoted from a World Health Organization report which found that one in 20 Ebola infections has an incubation period of longer than 21 days and, in some cases, up to double that -- 42 days:

Here's the actual language from the report:

95% of confirmed cases have an incubation period in the range of 1 to 21 days; 98% have an incubation period that falls within the 1 to 42 day interval.

Adams explains that the sentence appears to indicate that 95 percent of Ebola infections fall within the 1-21 day incubation window, while 3 percent fall within the 21-42 day window, and 2 percent of Ebola infections are unexplained.
