Ebola now has 70% mortality rate, but immune-boosting natural medicine is chastised and threatened

(NaturalNews) Throughout September, popular media reports have claimed that the Ebola death rate took out 50 percent of those infected with the virus. New figures released on September 20 by the World Health Organization show that the death rate is actually higher than what's been reported on. WHO says that 70 percent of infected persons in West Africa have died thus far, and current projections indicate that 21,000 more will be infected by November. This means that Ebola could realistically take the lives of 14,000 or more people over the next six weeks.
So far, the largest outbreak of Ebola has caused over 2,900 deaths, concentrated mainly in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. In other places, outbreaks are experiencing a reproductive number of less than one and are slowing. WHO says outbreaks in Senegal and Nigeria are now "pretty much contained."
The official WHO death total as of September 20, 2014, include 1,677 in Liberia, 635 in Guinea, 597 in Sierra Leone and eight in Nigeria. The countries hit hardest are now breeding grounds for the disease, with one to two additional infections per Ebola case. With a 70 percent death rate, nearly three of every four infected may be buried in makeshift graves.
Stark predictions from the CDC could be a way to encourage the demand for experimental drugs
The CDC's 1.4 million infection estimate by January could be realized if the treatment response is not fast and effective enough. Dr Christopher Dye, Director of Strategy for WHO, is afraid that control measures may not be quick enough and that "these three countries will soon be reporting thousands of cases and deaths each week, projections that are similar to those of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)." These stark numbers might be exaggerated to encourage the demand for an experimental drug. How might drug company insiders working with health protection agencies exaggerate predictions in order to sell their product based on making people feel afraid?
What's strange in all this tragedy is that from one angle it appears as though this epidemic is being used to just test pharmaceutical drugs on Africans. It's as if drug companies are being opportunistic in this tragedy, looking for a profitable way to manage the virus. According to reports, an experimental drug IS set to be tested on West Africans in the coming weeks. It's called ZMapp.
"For the next one or two weeks we'll be doing site assessments and we'll be working with the WHO on identifying which drugs to prioritise, and then there'll be a number of steps in setting up the systems - getting ethical approval through the countries and getting community participation and agreement to run the trials."

In the meantime, drug regulation agencies like the US FDA are going after anyone who mentions something other than a pharmaceutical as a potential treatment for Ebola. Recently, two essential oil companies, Young Living and doTerra, were threatened with criminal charges for encouraging the use of essential oils for Ebola treatment. According to the FDA, only lab scientists can create antiviral medicines. What's utterly ignorant of them is that there are numerous scientific studies showing the natural, antiviral properties of essential oils like thyme, hyssop, ginger and sandalwood, among countless others. But these studies are not discussed; these essentials not allowed to be freely given, recommended or tested against Ebola. This shows that the science behind treating Ebola is bought off and controlled by drug company interests.
For Heaven's sake, these two herbs alone -- Echinacea purpurea and Eleutherococcus root -- exhibit antiviral properties in treating human Victoria (H3N2) and PR8 (H1N1), avian KAN-1 (H5N1) and FPV (H7N7) and pandemic S-OIV (H1N1) strains of influenza A, as well as rhinovirus (HRV) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).
Shouldn't building West African's immune systems be an integrated approach? Why are so many beneficial immune-system-supporting natural medicines being stifled and suppressed? Why are drug enforcement agencies going after things like essential oils instead of double-checking the drugs that are now being touted as singular treatments for Ebola without a shred of scientific evidence to support their claims?
Dr. Peter Horby, of the Centre for Tropical Medicine and Global Health at the University of Oxford, said the first trials of ZMapp on West Africans will likely begin as early as November. In the meantime, an integrated approach for immune-system-building is chastised and threatened with criminal charges. Insane!
