Obamacare intends to capture all your personal identifying health info, making it government property

by J. D. Heyes

(NaturalNews) As angry tens of millions of us are at the Internal Revenue Service's illegal targeting of groups politically opposed to President Obama, we are about to get a whole lot angrier at the IRS as it takes a major role in enforcing privacy-stealing provisions of the Affordable Care Act, famously known as Obamacare.

"When Obamacare's individual mandate takes effect in 2014, all Americans who file income tax returns must complete an additional IRS tax form," says a press release from the group, Americans for Tax Reform (ATR). "The new form will require disclosure of a taxpayer's personal identifying health information in order to determine compliance with the Affordable Care Act's individual mandate."

So much for HIPAA - the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996, which supposedly "protects the privacy of individually identifiable health information," according to the Department of Health and Human Services - the lead agency formulating the tens of thousands of pages of new rules and regulations regarding implementation of Obamacare (http://www.hhs.gov/ocr/privacy/). I guess HIPAA doesn't apply to a prying government agency - only we, the people.

Your personal health information will be compromised

The IRS confirmed its role in testimony by then-Deputy IRS Commissioner Steve Miller (who has just been fired by President Obama over the conservative group targeting scandal) to the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee, in which he said that "taxpayers will file their tax returns reporting their health insurance coverage, and/or making a payment."

Why then, asks ATR, does the Obama IRS require personal identifying health information?

"Simply put, there is no way for the IRS to enforce Obamacare's individual mandate without such an invasive reporting scheme," the organization said.

In January of each year health insurance companies are going to be required to send out tax documents to everyone they insure. That tax document - a copy of which will be sent to the IRS - "must contain information for taxpayers to prove that they purchased qualifying health insurance under Obamacare," ATR said.

At a minimum, the new tax information has to contain the name and health insurance identification number of the taxpayer; the name and tax ID of the health insurance company; the number of months the taxpayer was covered by the particular health insurance plan; and whether or not the plan was bought in one of Obamacare's health insurance pools or exchanges.

"This will involve millions of new tax documents landing in mailboxes across America every January, along with the usual raft of W-2s, 1099s, and 1098s. At tax time, the 140 million families who file a tax return will have to get acquainted with a brand new tax filing form. Six million of these families will end up paying Obamacare's individual mandate non-compliance tax penalty," said ATR.

As a public service, the organization has released what it calls a "projected version" of the tax form to help families and tax specialists prepare for the added filing requirement. That form can be viewed here.

"On the form, lines 3-4 show where taxpayers will disclose their personal health ID information," ATR pointed out.

The light at the end of the tunnel is a train

Obamacare's privacy-stealing provisions aside, the law is set to torpedo the healthcare industry in America and explode the cost of private health insurance - so much so that members of Congress, you may recall, were recently caught scheming behind the scenes to exempt themselves and their staff from its destructive clutches (http://www.naturalnews.com).

Health insurance premiums are expected to rise 200 to 400 percent, according to a recent survey of 17 insurance companies.

Six in 10 doctors say Obamacare's onerous, byzantine and cumbersome regulations have led them to choose earlier retirement in the next 1-3 years.

Waits for medical appointments are going to stretch into weeks and even months. There will be fewer trained professionals to take care of an aging, growing population. Care will deteriorate.

This is the future of healthcare in America - with the IRS acting as enforcer. Welcome to the train wreck.
