Review: Way Better Snacks delivers non-GMO, gluten-free, sprouted grain chips that are ridiculously delicious

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

(NaturalNews) My search for a healthy snack chip has led me to a phenomenally great-testing product from a company called "Way Better Snacks," makers of Sweet Chili Tortilla Chips.

Let's get the basics out of the way first: These chips are Non-GMO Project verified, certified gluten-free, made with sprouted grains (which activates many vitamins and other nutrients), and they contain powerhouse superfood ingredients like chia, quinoa, radish seeds and broccoli seeds. The chips aren't certified organic, but many of the ingredients they use are, indeed, organic.

What's NOT in their chips? No MSG. No trans fats. No GMO corn. No artificial colors. No refined sugar and no canola oil.

But all that doesn't mean much unless the taste wins you ever, and that's where these chips really shine: They are wildly delicious. The formulator really nailed it on these chips, delivering the kind of taste depth you normally don't find in anything sold in a bag. For healthy snack chips in a bag, this is about as good as it gets. It's hands-down the best healthy snack chip I've ever tasted.

These ain't no stinkin' Doritos

Now, of course if you really want to eat loads of MSG, genetically modified corn, artificial food colors and refined, dead ingredients, there's always Doritos. Your local grocery store is happy to sell you any number of products made with aspartame, yeast extract (hidden MSG), chemical preservatives and genetically modified canola oil. They might even have a pharmacy to sell you drugs that treat the symptoms of all the diseases caused by the crappy food they sell, too.

But if you're looking for a snack chip that's delicious and nutritious at the same time, Way Better Snacks really is "way better." By far.

Now, I know there will be discussion on why I'm recommending a snack chip in the first place. Snack chips are cooked in oils, after all, and that by itself is something you'll really want to limit in your diet. But I'm not saying throw out your salads and live on snack chips. I'm not saying this is better than a live foods smoothie, because it clearly isn't. What I'm saying is that if you're craving a salty snack and you're about to reach for a bag of chips -- or if you have family members who eat chips -- this product is literally "way better" than almost anything else you're likely to find.

Use this to replace a less healthy snack chip and you'll be ahead of the game. Try not to over-indulge on any snack foods, although I must admit I did eat the entire bag (5.5 oz) when I first tried these. Yeah, they're that good. And the bag sizes aren't that large, either.

Where to get Way Better Snacks

If your local grocer or health food store doesn't carry these, ask them to! Just walk right up to the manager and say, "Hey, could you carry these Way Better Snacks? Because if you do, I'll buy them."

If you can't find them locally or just want to order them online, get 'em from Green PolkaDox Box. That's actually where I first discovered them. Green PolkaDot Box is sort of like the Amazon.com of healthy foods, snacks and supplements. They focus on non-GMO products, and they have amazing discounts (far better pricing than Whole Foods on most items, for example).

GPDB also carries a large selection of other unique healthy foods and snacks that you'll find delightful! Check 'em all out Green PolkaDox Box.

Why I'm urging Way Better to make a dulse snack chip

Somebody needs to make a snack chip with dulse flakes mixed in with the non-GMO corn. I'm not sure why nobody has done it yet, and dulse is a super delicious, mineral-rich superfood from the ocean that has its own salty (full-spectrum) taste.

It's the most delicious seaweed of all, and I actually find myself snacking on dulse flakes all by themselves. They also help meet my minerals needs, diminishing any cravings for salty snacks. If there were a healthy, non-GMO dulse snack chip similar to the ones Way Better Snacks already offers, it would be a real breakthrough in high-mineral, high-nutrient-density snack foods.

The key with any seaweeds, however, is making sure you get a source that doesn't contain scary levels of metals. Many of the seaweeds harvested from the Northern hemisphere contain very high levels.
