(NaturalNews) Here's a quick look at some of the health news trends for the week ending on Friday, March 15, 2013:
Quack science says soldiers and veterans are violent criminals
A new "scientific" attack against soldiers is under way as The Lancet -- the same medical journal that smeared Dr. Wakefield over his research on vaccines -- is now smearing combat soldiers and calling them "more likely to commit violent crimes."
The research claims that combat soldiers who experience "multiple traumatic combat experiences" have a 70 to 80 perfect higher risk of "becoming violent criminals." This is all part of smear campaign against soldiers and veterans, creating justification to consider all soldiers and veterans to be violent criminals and thereby take from them the very rights and freedoms they fought to defend (namely, the Second Amendment rights).
This study means the vilification of soldiers and veterans has now been taken on by the very same quack scientists who attack vaccines while promoting fluoride, GMOs and chemotherapy.

International body demands U.S. government re-criminalize pot in Colorado, Washington
The International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) is now pressuring the U.S. federal government to nullify state laws that decriminalize small quantities of recreational marijuana.
The group claims that state laws which decriminalize marijuana violate the U.N. Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961, but they fail to admit that pot is not a narcotic. The real narcotics on the streets are those sold by Big Pharma and abusively prescribed by doctors. The INCB doesn't see any problem with doctors and drug companies flooding America's streets with narcotics and amphetamines, by the way.
As I predicted here on Natural News, it's only a matter of time before the federal government uses the threat of violence (i.e. men with guns) to destroy states' rights and start arresting pot smokers who are perfectly legal under state law. Why? Because the government runs the drugs, didn't you know? And the government hates competition.

Beet juice halts tumor growth
Beets are finally getting their long overdue credit as amazing sources of food-based medicine. An article in the Daily Mail says that beetroot juice slows the progression of dementia as well as cancer tumors.
Beet juice also lowers blood pressure and helps detox the liver and blood. The story also celebrates the root's ability to boost athletic endurance and improve cognitive function, among other benefits.
Perhaps it's time we all added a little more beet to our juices and smoothies, eh?
