If psychiatrists could give you the raw truth, this is how your therapy session might go

by Mike Bundrant

(NaturalNews) Since knowing the truth sets you free, then truth should be psychiatry's primary medicine. Given that, psychiatrists should be the most insightful and direct people on earth.

Doctors would be so effective at helping people heal emotional wounds that we'd almost have to call them "un-doctors," since very few real psychiatrists actually help people heal.

What would it be like to interact with one of these super insightful UnDocs if they gave you the raw truth? Here is what a session might sound like, if you dare:

You: I hope you aren't one of those psychiatrists who asks questions like, "How does that make you feel?" and then puts me on medication to keep me from feeling anything."

UnDoc: I am not.

You: Well then, doc, I need some real insight into my life because I am friggin' miserable!

UnDoc: Let us assume, then, that destroying your life is your goal. What are all the things you do to accomplish it? I am sure it is quite a list if you are as miserable as you say.

You: Whoa! Huh? Destroying my life is not my goal. I'm here to improve my life! What are you, some sort of sadist freak?

UnDoc: Just answer the question, please.

You: Well, it's a stupid question.

UnDoc: Stupid is as stupid does.

You: Why I ought to...

UnDoc: Please stop blocking me and answer the question.

You: Fine, but give me one good reason why I would ever want to destroy my life.

UnDoc: Because you enjoy it.

You: Alright, that's it! I've heard enough. You came highly recommended but you are absolutely insane!

UnDoc: I am not the one destroying my life and pretending that I am not destroying it, am I?

You: But it can't be...I don't want to...

UnDoc: Yes, I know. Human nature is quite a thing. I don't blame anyone who doesn't want to see it. And that means I don't blame 99.99% of people who walk the earth. It's terrifying, really.

The problem is, we are running out of time. Our unconscious liking for self-destruction is catching up to us. It may already be too late. My mission is to help people wake up to what is going on, one at a time. I need to get to the people who are ready. This is why I am being so direct. I don't have time to dance around in your denial. Either you are ready to see the truth or not.

You: Umm...ok...sorry. Let's see if I can wrap my mind around this. If I wanted to destroy myself, I would: Drink too much, eat too much sugar, live in high stress, constantly fight with my spouse, hate my "ex" every day of my life, ignore good advice from friends, insist on doing things that create anxiety like hiding my vices and being chronically late for work and letting myself get stepped on and....

Whoa! This is what I do!

UnDoc: And are you aware of the strange satisfaction you get from any of this?

You: Well, after a drinking binge, I do find a certain something in the hangover, almost like I am proud to have one. And I do feel a smug sense of satisfaction when I win an argument, even when I hurt someone's feelings. And honestly, when I think of coming down with a disease like diabetes one day, I tell myself who gives a sh** and feel oddly victorious.

Holy crap, doc. This is nuts. If I am taking pleasure in any of this, how did I get here?

UnDoc: It began the moment you were born. Think of the world you came from - the womb. Surrounded by eternal warmth and support, your every need was met before you felt it. You were one with your universe. Then, you were born into a cold world full of deprivation, control and rejection. It was overwhelming and much of it very, very painful. You cried in rage.

Ultimately, you understood there is no turning back. You were stuck in this world, which could never live up to your expectations. This is quite a dilemma. You resolved it by giving in. You couldn't bear a lifetime living in helpless pain, so you turned all that displeasure into pleasure. You know, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. It was the only solution.

Now, as an adult, your child mind is long unconscious, but you still feel an odd satisfaction in pain and destruction. If you've any doubt about this, just list the last 10 movies you enjoyed, even while putting yourself in the shoes of those being destroyed and reveling in it.

You: Listen doc, I am trying to cooperate here, but you're trying to tell me that my problems began in the womb and all that stuff - listen, I am an adult now and all that psychobabble is just stupid.

UnDoc: Stupid is as....

You: Alright! I get it. Listen, I need to think about your theories a bit before I decide to work with you.

UnDoc: I thought you might. A couple of parting thoughts: 1) What began in childhood is being recycled every day of your life and will be until the end, unless you wake yourself up, and 2) you currently employ all of your resources - more than you are capable of understanding - to keep reality from yourself and save your ego. This is why anyone who wants to see reality needs help from an awake person.

I wish you well...
