Chilling Homeland Security video advises Americans to use scissors to defend themselves from attacks during massacre

by Ethan A. Huff, staff writer

(NaturalNews) Should you ever find yourself in the midst of a mass-shooting situation, just grab a pair of scissors and attack the shooter with them in order to protect yourself. This is the ridiculous advice of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which recently released a hokey public service video entitled Options for Consideration Active Shooter Training Video that makes absolutely no mention whatsoever of using personal firearms for self defense, but rather encourages people to cower in fear and use office supplies to thwart crazed shooters.

Published on the DHS website on January 25, a little more than one month after the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre, the video says it is intended to review the choices people have when confronting a mass shooter, which include "evacuating, hiding, or, as an option of last resort, challenging the shooter." But instead of offering real solutions that might actually stop a shooter, the video, replete with cheesy, poorly-acted footage of businesspeople running around offices shutting doors and hiding under desks, mocks the intelligence of the average American with hackneyed advice.

"If you are caught out in the open and cannot conceal yourself or take cover, you might consider trying to overpower the shooter with whatever means are available," explains the stern, commandeering narrator as a woman is seen opening an office drawer and grabbing a pair of scissors. The scene quickly cuts away after showing the pair of scissors, which is the only item featured in the DHS video as an option for self defense.

Homeland Security creating Hitler-like dictatorship where dissenters, gun-owners are 'terrorists'

The public release of such nonsense from the DHS is hardly surprising, considering the agency several years ago initiated the If You See Something, Say Something citizen spying initiative at Walmart stores across the country. This Nazi-like snitch program was so farcical that we actually created a video parody of it over at TV.naturalnews.com, which you can watch here:

DHS' omission of guns as an option for self defense in the event of a mass shooting is also not surprising, as the agency has insinuated in numerous past videos and public service announcements that gun-owners are potential terrorists. DHS almost always links guns with terrorism, in fact, regardless of how they are used, and avoids ever mentioning them in a positive light. And this fits in nicely, of course, with the Obama administration's ongoing attempts to eliminate Americans' access to guns.

Just a few days before the release of its new video, DHS, along with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), announced it would be joining the Obama administration in torching the Second Amendment with sweeping anti-gun legislation. Far from the domestic anti-terrorism body that it claims to be, DHS is increasingly proving itself to be nothing more than an unconstitutional federal police force working lockstep with the globalist powers to disarm Americans and institute a military-style dictatorship.

"[T]he new 'terrorists' in this country are the Americans who love liberty, hate unconstitutional government edicts and fear the bureaucrats running Washington, D.C.," writes Pat Shannan for the American Free Press. "Second Amendment advocates are at the top of this 'terrorist' list, but a mere 'pro-life' bumper sticker might be enough to make one suspect in the eyes of a dumbed-down cop who forgot his oath."
