In cachexia, use coffee enemas to help control cancer weight loss

by Craig Stellpflug

(NaturalNews) A new study out of Heidelberg University shows that the liver is the organ that controls severe weight loss and muscle wasting (called cachexia), due to cancer. "Doctors used to believe that cancer re-programs metabolism focusing all energy into tumor growth," says Prof. Dr. Stephan Herzig, of the German Cancer Research Center, Heidelberg University. The latest research shows that cancer doesn't cause deadly cachexia, but rather plays a role in low lipid levels due to the liver releasing insufficient amounts of Very Low Density Lipoprotein (VLDL), which facilitates the transport of fat in the bloodstream.

"Our results prove, for the first time, that dramatic loss of body mass may be controlled by the liver," says Stephan Herzig.

Cachexia often presents with an inflamed fatty liver and affects about 70 percent of cancer patients. Cachexia is characterized by dramatic loss of body weight regardless of caloric food intake and is the most pronounced in patients suffering digestive tract and lung cancers. Victims can lose up to 80 percent of body fat and skeletal muscle with consequent muscle loss producing profound weakness, immobility and eventual death in patients. About 20 percent of all cancer deaths are a direct consequence of cachexia.

The liver's role in cancer

The liver has two distinct functions: Number one is it is the body's main blood filter/detoxifier. Number two is that the liver is the body's primary fat metabolizer. When the liver becomes overloaded with toxins and other burdens, it becomes sluggish and fatty. At this point, it cannot perform either of these functions well and health declines slowly at first, gaining momentum as the body becomes even more toxic.

Every substance that is absorbed by the intestines must first pass through the liver before going on to the general circulation. The liver disposes of toxins produced internally from bowel contents, food, water and medications, and externally from the air you breathe. The fats that your body uses for energy, hormone transport, weight gain and other functions are produced in the liver.

Compromised liver function is an invitation for toxic buildup in the body which in turn invites cancer and also hinders the body's ability to fight cancer.

Coffee enemas to the rescue

Max Gerson was the first to propose that coffee enemas had a positive effect on patients with cancer. Gerson taught that improved circulation and tissue integrity would prevent the spread of cancer and destroy malignant tumors. Although coffee enemas primarily facilitate excretion of toxic wastes from the liver, these enemas also flush out fat from the liver. Coffee enemas also promote the absorption of vitamin A, enabling patients to use copious amounts of vitamin A - especially when combined with juice fasting, which plays a vital role in immune function.

"Coffee enemas are not given for the function of the intestines but for the stimulation of the liver." ~ Max Gerson

How the coffee enema works

Coffee enemas cause the liver to dump toxins, stimulate toxic bile flow out of the liver, promote glutathione production (via palmitic acid), dilate capillaries in the liver to nourish liver cells, promote pain reduction in the body, infuse lots of antioxidants, stimulate the liver to expel accumulated fats - all the while stimulating the detoxifying enzyme system in the liver and small intestines.

A coffee enema uses strained, cooled coffee water infused into the colon to stimulate the liver to release bile and dump accumulated fats and toxins into the colon for elimination. Coffee enemas are an integral part of most successful cancer battle plans and are known to also relieve rashes, depression, confusion, general nervous tension, allergy related symptoms, severe and chronic pain while helping the body fight disease and cancer.

Take good care of your liver and it will take good care of you.
