Vaccinating our children - Making an informed decision

by Luella May

(NaturalNews) When opting to vaccinate children, it is important to make an educated and informed decision. Too many parents are unaware of the risks that vaccines pose, not realizing that they can lead to serious or even life-threatening health conditions. In addition to possible fatal reactions, immunizing children may contribute to such health conditions as asthma, allergies, learning disabilities, hyperactivity, ADD/ADHD and more.

Safety and effectiveness of vaccines

Numerous published medical studies have documented the dangers and sometimes fatal side effects of vaccines. Yet, most parents and pediatricians are not aware of these findings. Despite health authorities' assurances of the safety and effectiveness of vaccines, proper research finds that such is not the case. About 11,000 reports are received by the FDA's Vaccine Adverse Effects Reporting System each year, one percent of which account for death from vaccine reactions. And those figures may be just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to vaccine injuries and deaths - the FDA estimates that only about 10 percent of adverse reactions are actually reported.

Health authorities tell us that vaccines are responsible for eradicating disease; however, the truth of the matter is that the vast majority of diseases declined prior to the implementation of compulsory vaccinations. For example, mainstream medicine tells us that vaccines were responsible for the eradication of polio. Yet, studies show that the polio epidemic was on its way out when this vaccine was introduced. Likewise, medical literature is full of documentation that refers to measles, mumps, small pox, and polio outbreaks having occurred in populations that have been vaccinated.

Harmful effects of vaccines

The list of documented long term adverse effects from vaccines is a lengthy one. It includes autism, hyperactivity, attention deficit disorder, dyslexia, allergies, and cancer, just to name a few. Many of these conditions hardly existed 30 years ago before the introduction of mass vaccination programs. Perhaps these adverse effects should come as no surprise since vaccine ingredients include known carcinogens and other dangerous items such as thimersol, aluminum phosphate, and formaldehyde.

A German study found links between vaccines and 22 neurological disorders which include attention deficit disorder and epilepsy. A problem that is not being addressed is the unknown consequences of the possible mutation of viral elements in vaccines which may persist in the human body indefinitely.

Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is another cause for concern. National and international studies have shown a strong link between vaccines and SIDS. One study found that a great number of SIDS cases occurred between two and four months, exactly when a baby receives the first two scheduled immunizations. Another study found that 3,000 children die within four days of vaccinations in the United States each year. A third study concluded that half of SIDS deaths in the United States are a direct cause of vaccines.

You can say no to vaccines

Most people do not realize that you can say "no" to vaccines or that legal exemptions are relatively easy to obtain in most instances. All 50 states allow for a medical exemption, nearly all states allow for a religious exemption, and more and more states are allowing for a philosophical or personal exemption. Mississippi is the only state where these exemptions may not be obtainable. The state of Mississippi only allows for a medical exemption, and even that exemption may be difficult to obtain.

Thus, once a parent has determined that they do not wish to risk having their children vaccinated, they should do the proper research to find what legal steps are available to protect their children from forced vaccinations.
