Studies show cholesterol drugs do not impact cancer risks

In JAMA, an analysis authored by C. Michael White of the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy determined that cholesterol-lowering drugs like Zocor and Lipitor do not affect the risk of developing or dying from cancer, dealing a major blow to drug companies looking to expand the market for their drugs.
- And a study of Israeli patients published earlier this year showed a 47 percent lower risk of colorectal cancer in people who used statins for at least five years.
