by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
According to new research, low-fat diets have made a huge comeback, beating out low-carb diets in a new study.
- The tried-and-true lowfat approach to weight loss is back on top, according to a new study presented at the annual meeting of the North American Association for the Study of Obesity.
- All 2,700 primarily female participants who enrolled in the National Weight Control Registry between 1995 and 2003 reported consuming 1,400 calories each day.
- But the portion of calories from fat increased from 24 percent in 1995 to more than 29 percent in 2003, while calories from carbs dropped from 56 percent to 49 percent.
- True to conventional wisdom, those who increased their fat intake over a one- year period regained the most weight.
