Americans remain at high risk for diabetes

An estimated 16 million Americans over the age of 40 have pre-diabetes, or elevated blood sugar levels not high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes, and the majority of those with pre-diabetes will have diabetes within 10 years unless they undergo treatment or a lifestyle change.
