New Zealand honey proves effective as antibacterial, anti-fungal wound dressing

Scientists in New Zealand have developed a sterilized wound dressing from Manuka honey, a honey made from the Leptospermum plant and prized for its antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. Studies show the honey dressing can be used to help heal normal cuts and grazes, more serious lacerations and burns, and possibly even e-coli and anti-biotic resistant forms of Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria.
