Chicago foot doctor convicted of murdering a patient

Podiatrist Dr. Ronald Mikos, 56, of Chicago was convicted Thursday, of the murder of patient Joyce Brannon. Brannon was expected to testify Mikos cheated Medicare out of funds by claiming he performed 72 operations on Brannon that never took place. Mikos shot Brannon to death to prevent this testimony, and could be facing the death penalty. Mikos' lawyers may provide testimony from mental health experts to help him avoid the death penalty. Mikos was also found guilty of fraud by a federal grand jury.
