by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor
Planning to spend $100 billion on a 4-man mission, NASA director Micheal Griffin announced details of a plan to send a manned mission to Mars that is yet to have a timeline.
The US space agency Nasa is again setting its sights on landing humans on the moon.
Nasa plans to spend $100bn to develop a new space shuttle and rocket engines over the next 12 years to send a four-man crew for a one-week stay on the moon in '18, according to the website space.com.
Nasa director Michael Griffin is to announce details of the plans Monday in Washington.
The space organisation is following up on President George W Bush's promise last year to return to the moon by '20.
After the manned spaceship lands on the moon, Mars will be Nasa's next stop.
The last human to set foot on the moon was Harrison Schmitt, the US pilot of Apollo 17, on December 12, 1972.
