Low-carb diets and artificial sweeteners both promised to help people lose weight, but the promises were empty

by Mike Adams, NaturalNews Editor

As it becomes more and more clear that low-carb diets do not provide the radical weight loss that many had hoped they would give to the new, fatter America, it is time to accept the fact that there are no shortcuts to weight loss. In fact, artificial sweeteners promised to help people lose weight and keep it off, but that promise turned out to be empty too.

Low-carb diets fail because people are ingesting calories that simply can't be burned off. However, they also fail because people tend to cheat a little with supposedly low-carb foods that have lowered their carbohydrates offering smaller servings rather than actually cutting down on carbohydrates.
