Indian health minister calls for more emphasis on homoeopathic and ayurvedic medicine

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

Mulayam Singh Yadav, the chief minister of India's health department, has created an advisory council to encourage homeopathic and traditional (ayurvedic) Indian medicines. The council will be composed of Indian and foreign doctors of high reputation. Minister Yadav says that he will seek Cabinet approval for the council.

Yadav says that the homeopathic and ayurvedic medical systems could become very popular among poorer Indians because they are low in cost and have no side effects. He called on Indians to adapt simpler lifestyles so as to forestall diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure, and said that India should originate research work on homeopathic medicine.
