Red wine consumption proven to have numerous health benefits

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

According to new research, moderate red wine consumption may have more health benefits than previously thought. Resveratrol, a polyphenol in grape skins, inhibits blood platelet aggregation. Red wine is fermented with the skins, allowing the wine to absorb the resveratrol, whereas white wine is fermented after the skin has been removed. Further, grape seed extract has strong antioxidant, anti-allergic, antihistamine and antiviral properties, as well as being a source of bioflavonoids. Finally, OPC, or oligomeric proanthocyanidin, is a versatile nutrient and antioxidant.
