Exercising and reducing stress strengthens heart, reduces depression

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

Researchers at Duke University tested 84 men and 40 women with decreased blood flow to the heart and discovered that exercise and stress management not only fights heart disease, but is also fights off depression. By separating the subjects into groups that received no special treatment, regular exercise, or stress management training, researchers were able to isolate the effects of each.

After 16 weeks, the groups that either exercised or learned stress management had lowered their risk for heart disease and they showed significantly less depression and stress.
