Increased hospital scrutiny may not have desired effect, say hospital execs; hospitals may disclose fewer errors

by Mike Adams, NaturalNews Editor

Hospital executives in six states were polled, with results showing that the majority object to state laws requiring hospitals to report medical errors. Concerns were expressed that a higher level of regulation actually inhibits disclosure due to fear of litigation against doctors and administrators. Nevertheless, executives in states where such laws were already in place were less likely to complain about the laws, leading researchers to believe that once in place these laws are met with general acceptance.
