An exercise physiologist at Indiana University says that swimming two or three miles three to five times a week could postpone the aging process by many years. The researcher studied blood pressure, blood chemistry, lung function and muscle mass of 200 older swimmers, and determined that their bodies were functioning at levels that would normally be observed in much younger people.
