There are hundreds of diet supplements on the market.
It is tough to choose one and know if it really works.
Now, a new natural product is gaining national attention for its results.
NutriSystem's T-Green Mints promises a double threat -- curbing the appetite while freshening the breath.
"Its kind of grainy and chunky feeling," said Liz Scurry, who tried out the mints.
That grainy greatness is supposed to shrink your stomach.
The mints, packed with green tea extract, are designed to be eaten when a craving arises.
"They do give you rush, sort of like an Altoid," said Tonya Barnes, a dieter.
Barnes said that she has tried many diet pills and she likes T-Green Mints.
"They gave me energy and they were good enhancement because I'm on a weight-loss program right now," Barnes said.
Some nutritionists say that the claims of the mints' manufacturer are misleading and that there is no easy answer to weight loss.
But company officials say two mints are equivalent to six to eight cups of green tea.
"Studies have shown that taking green tea with a low-cal program can increase weight loss by 5 to 10 percent," said Dr. Jay Satz, of NutriSystem.
While they may not be miracle mints, they are a fresh supplement in the battle of the bulge.
NutriSystem also makes a green tea gum that is also supposed to curb cravings.
When NBC 10 called the company, located in Horsham, Pa., they said that they are so popular they are currently all out.
