Arthritis pain drug Mobic found to present higher heart attack risk than banned Vioxx, says study

A new study says the arthritis drug Mobic may be even riskier than Vioxx, a pill that voluntarily withdrew last year after reports that it lead to heart attacks in some patients. The study has not yet been confirmed, so the FDA is not expected to take immediate action. Many patients turned to Mobic after studies found that similar pills, Vioxx, Bextra and Celebrex, all had links to heart attacks.
