Gastroenterologist Byron Cryer at the University of Texas believes that low doses of aspirin, plus anti-ulcer medications, are a better preventative regime for heart patients who also suffer from gastrointestinal complications than the anti-ulcer drug Plavix. Cryer said that Plavix impairs the healing of ulcers and tends to increase bleeding in ulcer patients.
