Gateway Ships Notebook With Extended Battery Life Feb. 10, 2005
The PC maker debuted a highly customizable notebook that it claims delivers up to 10 hours of battery life.
Gateway Inc. on Thursday unveiled a notebook that the computer maker claims delivers 10 hours of battery life, a feature that would be particularly helpful to the mobile professional.
The Gateway M460 provides from four to seven hours of battery life on a single charge with one of the primary six-, eight- or 12-cell Lithium Ion batteries.
To extend battery life further, the notebook has a modular hot-swap bay, so an optional modular six-cell battery can be used with the 12-cell primary battery to achieve up to 10 hours or more of power, officials with the Irvine, Calif.-based, company said.
Another feature geared toward the business traveller is the notebook's thin-and-light design, Gateway said.
The notebook weighs less than six pounds and is as little as 1.31 inches thick.
The M460 can be customized with a wide range of features, including displays, processors, memory, hard drives and optical drives.
