Health insurance no real help to millions of American bankruptcy filers

More than half of all American bankruptcy filings last year were the direct result of out-of-control medical expenses, a new study says. Further, the report says, most of the 2.1 million filers had health insurance when they first became ill, but that coverage either lapsed or had serious gaps. As these stats are beginning to be quoted across the world, even foreign pundits are starting to make serious calls for American health care reform.
