Scientific studies can be real stress-producers for mice, rabbits, rats, and other lab animals. That’s the conclusion of a report published in “Contemporary Topics in Laboratory Animal Science.” One example of a stressor--a mouse who is picked up and briefly held experiences stress-related physiological reactions. The research could provide new ammunition for animal rights groups, which are against lab experiments involving animals.
