Homeopathy demonstrates that it works for a variety of health concerns

• TO SOME, it's new age snake oil, to others a tried and trusted treatment, with advocates from members of the British Royal family to US presidents, pop stars and footballers.
• The German doctor Samuel Hahnemann is credited with inventing today's form of homeopathy, after he became increasingly horrified by the so-called cures that were available in the late 18th century, such as blood letting and the liberal use of arsenic.
• He gave up his traditional practice, and, after many months of research, he announced a new medical principle based on the practice of the ancient Greeks of "that which makes sick shall heal".
• The key to homeopathy is in the way the practitioner deals with his patient.
• Special drops that he made up for me resulted in the less than gentle conventional medication used to shrink cancerous tumours being far less of a traumatic experience.
