Follow-up studies on medical devices are never completed 22 percent of the time

A recent study by the FDA showed that 22% of follow-up studies on medical devices are never completed by the companies who issued the devices. Though there are some extenuating circumstances in the medical device industry as opposed to the drug industry, this is troubling news for the medical device makers. After the difficulty that the FDA has faced with the approval of Vioxx and Celebrex, there may be shake-up in the medical device industry, as well.
