Magnetic reversal of planet Earth is accelerating

Not too long ago, scientists laughed in disgust at the very idea that the Earth's magnetic fields could flip. Today, of course, we know it as a scientific fact. The planet's magnetic fields have flipped hundreds of times in the past, and they're accelerating towards yet another flip. What does it all mean for humans? Chances are, the flip won't be happening any time soon, but when it does flip, the world can count on serious chaos: superstorms, earthquakes, movement of tectonic plates, satellite failures, navigation equipment failures, animal migration problems, you name it. You don't want to be around when that happens...
