The Actor Thing May Actually Help Schwarzenegger

by Mike Adams (see all articles by this author)

Arnold's a pushy kind of guy. In a get-things-done kind of way, that is. and in the political realm, I'm guessing this will be a great asset.

Think about it: on any given bill, most politicians can't get consensus from the other State Congress members. Even when they mean well! As a result, a lot of very helpful legislation never sees the light of day.

But Arnold's got one in the bag: he's popular. He demands and receives TV attention. He speaks with determination, and he usually gets his way.

In the Newsday article above, the author explores the actor factor. But I think there's a more important factor: the bodybuilder competitor factor. Why? Because bodybuilding is a highly competitive sport where determination is a big factor on the final outcome. And Arnold, aside from having really good genetics for bodybuilding, also proved that he has the courage and fortitude it takes to win big.

He proved it yet again by performing what, until recently, looked like the political equivalent of Mission Impossible: winning the Governorship of California. That's no small task.

It may sound hoaky, but in my opinion, these qualities of Arnold that saw him through multiple successes in many different areas of his life (bodybuilding, movie making, etc.) will offer him considerable aid as the Governor of California. He has political will and clout where others don't. And he'll use it.
