This includes a biofeedback machine, acupuncture needles, a cup of herbal tea, massage oil, a glass of vegetable juice or even a bottle of water. "...if a person decides to produce and sell raw vegetable juice for use in juice therapy to promote optimal health... [and] if the juice therapy is intended for use as part of a disease treatment regimen instead of for the general wellness, the vegetable juice would also be subject to regulation as a drug under the Act.

Adopt the daily habit of drinking a glass of fruit or vegetable juice before breakfast and add to this a half to one teaspoon of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C). This is also a great time to take your multi-vitamin capsule and any other supplements that are benefiting you. If you find cold vegetable juices unpalatable there are many juices which can be served hot as soups (but don't boil away the goodness from them). An equal blend of vegetables grown above and below the ground makes a delicious and healthy mix to include in your diet.

A healthy regimen of juicing would include a full glass of fruit juice and another of vegetable juice each day. For correcting more serious health problems, more can be consumed in lieu of solid food. For serious illnesses, a total juice diet for one week to one month or longer is sometimes recommended, but this should be done in consultation with a health practitioner. Fruit juice should be limited to no more than two glasses daily. vegetable juice should comprise the majority of juice consumed.

But, you can do that with fresh vegetable juice. You can do that with smoothies. Mike: I love this whole area, and I know we can talk hours on this. Some people call it the homeopathy of foods. What do you call it? Do you have a name for that? Wolfe: I just call it the best food ever. Mike: Right on. Wolfe: That's what I say when people ask what I'm into. I tell them that I'm into the best food ever. They say, "Well, that's too much for me. I can't do it now." It only takes a step at a time to do this, and there's so much nutrition in this.

One cup of vegetable juice and one-half cup of fruit juice are equivalent to one vegetable and one fruit serving, respectively. Vegetable juice makes a great snack. Check the labels on canned and bottled vegetable juices because some are high in sodium. V-8® juice, as well as several other brands, now produce low-sodium vegetable juices. A wide variety of fruit juices are available, but check the nutrition labels carefully: Many contain as little as 10 percent real fruit juice.

It took me (David Rainoshek) three years of eating a plant-based diet before I could look at a bowl of greens, or look at a glass of green vegetable juice and find my immediate response, "that's a muscle-building food," instead of seeing it as Oscar the Grouch in a can. Leafy greens are approximately 30 percent protein (amino acids, the building blocks of protein). I have had MDs argue this point with me, disagreeing that greens are so high in protein, until they see the data. We have all been socialized and taught to see greens—and vegetables in general—as sides to the "main course.

Any agency that openly states "vegetable juice will be regulated as a drug" has quite simply lost its marbles. We're are now clearly being regulated by clinically insane bureaucrats. With this desperate proposal by the FDA -- clearly designed as a last-ditch effort to save the failing conventional medical industry from a massive public shift towards natural medicine -- the war against health freedom has reached our shores, and the FDA is plotting a 9/11-style attack to bring down the towers of health freedom in one swift motion.

Researchers found insulin receptors in the postmenopausal ovaries, which is a unique place to find them.

FDA's attempts to slip its CAM Guidelines under the radar fail; deadline for public comment extended to May 29

Any document in which the FDA openly states its intention to regulate vegetable juice as a drug is clearly and unquestionably a threat to health freedom, regardless of the noise level in the current health freedom debate. It is my belief that those individuals and organizations attempting to silence the reporting on these CAM Guidelines are, in fact, working in opposition to health freedom, regardless of their self-proclaimed stance on the issue. Actions speak louder than words.

These guidelines could classify vegetable juice as a "drug" and require FDA approval before the juice could be sold. The purpose of the CAM Guidelines is to oppress naturopathic practices and products, limiting consumers' health care choices to drugs and surgery. 9) The FDA, in cooperation with the FTC, has viciously attacked Lane Labs, a company that manufactured and marketed genuine anti-cancer supplements. Lane Labs has been "targeted for termination" by the authorities in order to prevent it from successfully marketing a product that really does cure cancer.

Read between the lines on the FDA's CAM Guidelines

Mike Adams, the Health Ranger

Why would they spell out the example of regulating vegetable juice if they didn't plan to someday enforce such regulatory ideas? The FDA has already proven it is the enemy of health freedom. It is entirely consistent with the agency's past behavior to believe it will continue to march towards banning, censoring or regulating out of existence any substance that competes with pharmaceutical profits. The CAM Guidelines spell it all out, plain as day. Reading between the lines on this one isn't even very difficult.
