| Old Man was traveling about, declare the Blackfeet of Montana; he was making people and arranging things. "He came from the south, traveling north, making animals and birds as he passed along. He made the mountains, prairies, timber, and brush first. So he went along, traveling northward, making things as he went, putting rivers here and there, and falls on them, putting red paint here and there in the ground—fixing up the world as we see it to-day. |

In his book The Yoga of Time Travel, Fred Alan Wolf claims, "Through the action of the quantum wave, it is possible for a future event to connect by traveling backward through time, with a present or a past event." One day, while sitting in a restaurant enjoying my well-deserved lunch break, I had a realization concerning this concept. I vividly imagined how photons traveling backward from the future could meet with photons traveling in a forward direction from what we call the past. Where these two waves of photons meet, their point of intersection creates the present moment. |

Just consider this: If a woman bought five avocados at Whole Foods and is on a train traveling East at thirty-five miles per hour because she could no longer afford to hire a cab, and there's another train traveling West at twenty-seven miles per hour...
Ah, never mind. Word problems and healthy food don't mix.
I have a message for Whole Foods: Just tell us how much the freakin' food costs, okay? Don't make us have to decode your little math brainteasers in order to arrive at a per-item dollar figure. Shopping at Whole Foods should be a health experience, not a math experience. |

You are traveling, either at home or abroad. Airlines can be responsive to special requests for no-fat vegetarian meals, but they often need a reminder twenty-four hours before takeoff. Of course, you always have the option of packing a picnic of your own that meets your specifications exactly. As for restaurants in unfamiliar locales, use the same tactics while traveling that you use at home: try to call ahead and let the chef or maitre d' know what kind of meal you will need.
You will doubtless come up with strategies of your own. |

In one famous experiment, he imagined a train traveling at almost the speed of light, whose engine and caboose are both simultaneously struck by lightening. Place an observer in the middle of the train. Since she is traveling forward, shouldn't the lightening from the engine strike her eyes before that of the caboose? But place a second observer off the train, standing on the tracks. How will she perceive the double lightning strike? |

After all, he was emitting a constant stream of biophotons, all traveling at the speed of light; each photon would have traveled 186,000 miles one second later, and 372,000 miles one second after that.
His light was not unlike the photons of visible light emanating from stars in the sky. Much of the light from distant stars has been traveling for millions of years. Starlight contains a star's individual history. Even if a star had died long before its light reached Earth, its information remains, an indelible footprint in the sky. |

The coordinates for our personalized experiences in space/time are formed where the path of these two streams of photons meet.
Fred Alan Wolf says in his book The Eagles Quest that nothing is actually determined as the past. Both the past and the future are connected to the present as possibilities. |

Along with a working cell phone, it's the one tool to have by your side when traveling virtually anywhere. (Note: TSA authorities may not allow you to carry this on an airplane, so pack it in your luggage instead.) It's also a perfect gift to give someone who puts a lot of miles on the road traveling, commuting, taking the kids camping or even just driving to the grocery store (95% of all car accidents happen within two miles of home).

On the other hand, our phibsophe shows his modernity with a recipe for what we would call "instant chocolate," and adds this revealing comment:
Chocolate made this way has this convenience, that if one is in a hurry to go out, or when he is traveling and does not have time to put it [the tablet] into a drink, one may eat a one-ounce tablet and take a drink on top of it, and let the stomach do the mixing of this impromptu breakfast. |

While traveling? How could he possibly eat this food? He had always hated fruits and vegetables. "Big Macs, French fries, milk shakes were favorite foods," he readily admits. "My favorite thing was chocolate."
From the start, Jim made it sound as if what I asked him to do was absurd, a constant inconvenience. He deeply treasured the food that had gotten him in trouble. But he was an intelligent person, and what finally won him over was the logic of the program. We were trying to follow the nutritional example of countries where disease was nonexistent. |

It was from this larger clot that smaller ones were traveling up to block the major arteries of her lungs. From torso to toes, Jan's blood was clotting up like sludge and no one could explain why.
Without knowing exactly what was causing Jan's condition, the ER physicians put her on the blood thinner Coumadin with the understanding that she would need to stay on it for several months to avert further crises. She stayed six days in the hospital before being discharged. But the second day home it didn't seem to matter that she was taking the full recommended dose of anticoagulants. |
| Jan took a dose of the antibiotics that she and David always carried in their first aid kit when traveling, and they stopped at a pharmacy for a heating pad to wrap around her arm to help disperse the clot—both standard protocol. They passed a road sign pointing to a local hospital along the deserted highway. David looked at Jan questioningly.
She shook her head no. "I want to get home to medical care I know we can count on," she told him. With Jan's eyes locked on the crimson line to make sure it wasn't progressing, they headed home. |

You will doubtless come up with strategies of your own. My patient Anthony Yen, who travels far and wide on business, has shown particular ingenuity over his twenty-plus years on the program. Among other things, he put together a set of cards that request— in a variety of languages—plant-based food that contains no oil. |

Endocrine-disrupting chemicals are remarkably adept at traveling through the bloodstream and entering our cells by tricking specific receptors on cells into believing that the chemicals are, in fact, real estrogen being secreted by our own bodies (endocrine literally means "secreting internally"). Once in the cell, these chemical imposters bind with estrogen receptors and begin to set things askew by sending out a false signal to the rest of the body—one that the brain did not intend or command. It is as if the radio waves have been hijacked by a rogue station. |
| The success of Tysabri, which was also being tested for efficacy in treating Crohn's disease and rheumatoid arthritis, is based on its ability to bind to a protein on immune-system cells, preventing them from traveling to the brain, where they can then pass into the nervous system and cause the brain and spine lesions that lead to MS symptoms. The drug, which is administered intravenously once a month in a doctor's office—making it a better alternative to drugs that require daily injections—appeared to be safe and well tolerated, although there was no information about long-term safety. |

They mention how hard it is to maintain this nutrition plan when dining with friends and relatives, during work hours, while traveling, both in the United States and abroad. But you can do it. Many others have. The key is to remember that the rewards are greater than the frustration.
I have experienced this phenomenon myself and watched it in every patient with whom I've worked: after twelve weeks of eating no animal foods, dairy, or added oils, you lose your craving for fat.1 You then begin to appreciate more than ever before the natural flavor of grains, vegetables, legumes, and fruit. |

| Drinking water can be contaminated in this manner, or from traveling through lead-based plumbing materials. Pipes, for example, can become corroded, resulting in higher concentrations of lead in the water. Many homes built before 1940 are danger zones, especially if lead pipes haven't been replaced and the walls were painted with lead-based paints. Tobacco smoke can also contain dangerous amounts of lead. People who smoke or who are exposed to secondhand smoke are prime candidates for lead poisoning.
Lead poisoning can occur from inhaling or ingesting the toxic metal. |
| This compacted toxic matter leaves your body by traveling through a separate evacuation tube leading back to the machine. Warm water flows gently in and out of your colon a few times in a typical session, which lasts between thirty and fifty minutes, depending on how you feel. The treatment process is painless and you may experience some warmth as the toxins are flushed from your body.
Colonic hydrotherapy is extremely effective at toxin removal, especially when supplemented with an oxygen-based cleanser. |

Walsh spent the next two years traveling around the world's tropics, learning how cacao was grown, and gathering 130 samples to determine which strain would do best. He settled on criollo, and in December 1986 planted his first 18,000 trees. Today, Walsh has several plantations in different parts of the island; chocolate produced from beans harvested in Kona (in the dry western part of the island) has a fruity taste quality, while beans from Keaau (near Hilo, on the rain-soaked east side of the island) tend to have an earthy flavor. |

At Cacaxtla we see the old, aquiline-nosed god of the Maya merchants and cacao-growers, Ek Chuah (or God L); with his traveling staff in hand, he stands resting before a cacao tree, his huge backpack propped up behind him. In other episodes depicted in the Cacaxtla mural program, a mighty battle is being fought in gory detail, and Putiin heroes (or perhaps gods) dance in Maya-Mexican costume, carrying Maya royal paraphernalia.19
How should we interpret Cacaxtla? |

Water is another factor while traveling. Airplane travel dehydrates the body as cabin air is extremely dry. Be sure to bring quality water with you while flying.

Keep in mind that as effective as this pencil is, it won't completely stop greasy, overly slick lipsticks or lip glosses from traveling into lines around the mouth.
S© Lipscuff ($10) has been reformulated and no longer abrades lips with walnut shells and irritates them with mint. Instead, the emollient lipstick formula is blended with smooth polyethylene (ground-up plastic) beads, and works well to remove dry, flaky skin from chapped lips. It can still feel a bit abrasive unless used gently, so please heed that advice if you decide to try this.

| Retractable Lip Definer ($22) will make those prone to lipstick feathering into lines around the mouth happy because this automatic, retractable lip-liner applies smoothly without smearing, setting up a solid boundary to keep traveling lipstick from crossing the border. As a bonus, it is minimally prone to fading. The only disappointment here is the small selection of shades, of which three are dark brown tones that won't work with softer lipstick colors.

INSIGHT that over the years he has been made aware of sexual exploitation of children by traveling U.S. aviation-security personnel. "I heard them talk about having sex with young girls" he says. "Some of them talked about how [the children] were hairless [in their pubic area]. It was disgusting. My impression is that the behavior was pretty well-known. It was kind of a joke."

I also like aloe vera gel for use when traveling. You can add a teaspoon of this Aloe Vera 100 product to a bottle of water, close the lid, shake the bottle vigorously, and you have an aloe fruit drink. You might add a touch of stevia to sweeten it up, too, since the aloe isn't sweet by itself. If you want a really great-tasting drink buy GCW's Aloe Vera Raspberry Drink Mix (click here to view them). It's incredibly delicious even without sweeteners. It's my favorite instant drink mix!
