Most commercially sold baked, fried, frozen, canned, imitation dairy, and processed meat foods contain soy oil. Free of cholesterol and saturated fat, soy oil is a good source of healthy omega-3 fatty acids, which are believed to help prevent heart disease. Use soy oil in recipes as a substitute for other types of vegetable oil. The high smoking point of soy oil means that foods may be fried at high temperatures virtually smoke-free. |

The levels were not above the Chinese allowable limits and the study did not present data from non-GM soy oil controls. Thus, we can only conclude that heavy metals can accumulate in GM soy oil. As the paper states, little attention has been given to "whether the accumulation pattern and levels of heavy metals could change after the insertion of foreign genes."58 The scientists at the FDA's Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) also concluded that there is "ample scientific justification" to require testing and review of each GM food before approval. |

Soy Oil
Eighty-five percent of the fat content of the oil expressed from soybeans is unsaturated fat, and about 45 percent of its fatty-acid content is monounsaturated fat, which makes soy oil a factor in maintaining heart health. soy oil is also a good source of phytosterols—327 milligrams of phytosterols are found in 3.5 ounces of unrefined soy oil. It is also a good source of alpha-tocopherol.
Soy Protein
When protein is removed from defatted soy flakes, the result is called soy protein isolate, the most highly refined soy protein. |

Trace amounts of CoQlO exist in a variety of foods, such as organ meats, beef, soy oil, sardines, mackerel, and peanuts. The body also has the ability to make CoQlO from the amino acid tyrosine, but this is a complicated process that requires at least eight vitamins and several trace minerals to complete. A deficiency in any one of these nutrients can hinder the body's natural production of CoQlO.
Coenzymes as a group are cofactors essential for a large number of enzymatic reactions within the body. |

After all, a food must be terribly high in fat when they make "oil" or "butter" from it—like walnut oil, soy oil, and peanut butter.
Yes, nuts are high in fat, but theirs is for the most part a combination of monounsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fat, which are known to have a favorable effect on cholesterol levels. And this fat comes to us in a nice little package that includes some fiber, protein, and phytochemicals, too. Some nuts contribute other valuable nutrients.

Coconut oil and other healthful oils were practically replaced by cheap junk oils, including soy oil, cottonseed oil and rapeseed oil. The coconut oil's powerful weight controlling effects helped prevent an obesity epidemic among the general population. Since eliminating it from the American diet, obesity has become the leading cause of illness in this country and the rest of the world. |

| Unfortunately, in some countries, olive oil is sold as "extra virgin" but contains 80 percent soy oil. Genuine olive oil has a greenish/golden color. Organic olive oil has the best taste. If you are not sure about its authenticity, test it by using the kinesiology muscle test.4 Other oils have also been used, but may not be as effective as olive oil.
Q. I read on the Internet that the stones people passed during the liver cleanses are just hardened lumps of olive oil. Is there any truth to this?

With it, food manufacturers will be able to eliminate that embarrassing inner bean odor and put greater amounts of soy flour and soy oil into your food products. While less rancid oils are certainly a plus, health-conscious consumers concerned about soy allergens, goitrogens, estrogens, and other antinutrients and toxins might not want to embrace the non-P.U. bean.

| This vulnerable component of soy oil is lost, damaged or outright removed by the heat and pressure of modern processing methods (see Chapters 9 and 14). During tempeh making, the concentration of the EFAs (linoleic and alpha linolenic acid) decreases while the concentration of monounsaturated oleic acid increases. In the making of natto, there are no significant changes in fatty acid composition of the soy lipids, indicating that the enzyme lipase is not produced by the B. natto bacteria. |

Years ago, during the production of soy oil for a variety of uses, soy protein was thrown away and considered useless. Then the soy industry got the idea to try to sell it at a low price to low-income people. The food tasted so bad that these people would not eat it. Then the industry got the bright idea to sell it as a health food, taking scientific data about soy based on the traditional preparation of the food for a particular ethnic heritage. They superimposed this data onto white middle- and upper-middle-class women of mainly European decent. This sales strategy worked. |

You do not want the synthetic dl form and not the esterified tocopherol acetate or succinate, not the ordinary soy oil diluted mixed tocopherols or adulterated forms. You want the Vitamin E, which contains all four components for the powerful synergistic effects as nature intended. You do not want a Vitamin E with added soy oil or other oil fillers, which can turn rancid and cause harmful free radical damage. You do not want one with added preservatives, colors, or flavorings. |
