Because someone at NASA decided to do the calculations in the English system of measurement rather than the metric system. Funny thing, isn't it, how miles and kilometers don't measure up the same when you're trying to orbit a planet...

 In 2003, in a paper in the New England Journal of Medicine, VA quality control officers reported on the effect of Kizer's effort to cut the number of hospital beds between 1997 and 1999. The quality officers found that the number of days patients spent in a hospital bed went down by half. The net effect of this change? Mortality went down among a sampling of three hundred thousand veterans suffering from four out of seven different diagnoses. Mortality was unchanged in the other three.  Don't go with any products made in Korea until quality control measures are significantly upgraded from that country. I've seen one device after another made in Korea -- sold in the United States -- fail the quality control tests. These products somehow manage to combine great hardware with atrocious software and user navigation.
At this time, I can't recommend a better video player because I think the market is just shaping up right now. The Sony PlayStation portable, or PSP, is in many ways a better video player, although it has its own limitations, which will be covered in another review. |

 They think they can just do anything they want, ship out anything they want, and forget about quality control. These are all just various strains of infectious disease. Let's send them out anyway, and we'll worry about it later. That must be the attitude that's taking place. It can only be sloppy quality control and a frightening disregard for human life that allowed something like this to happen.
