During ejaculation, the muscles in the prostate squeeze seminal fluids into the urethral tract. Disorders of the prosrate rarely occur before the age of thirty
Prostate problems include benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH), which results in an enlarged prostate that can narrow the urethra; prostatitis, acute or chronic inflammation of the prostate gland; and cancer.
Benign prostatic hypertrophy occurs in all men as they age, although it is not known why the prostate enlarges over time. |

It has been shown to shrink prostate tumor size, lower the PSA (prostate specific antigen), and actually help prevent prostate cancer. Other research shows that boron can alleviate joint pain and preserve brain cognitive function. Exciting research by Zhang et al, shows that, in a study on the treatment of prostate cancer, those who took the highest amount of boron were 64 percent less likely to develop prostate cancer, compared to the men who took the least amount.30 They found that the greater amount of boron-rich foods consumed, the lower the risk of being diagnosed with prostate cancer. |

And there appear to be connections among sunlight, vitamin D, and prostate cancer in African Americans as well. There is growing evidence that vitamin D inhibits the growth of cancerous cells in the prostate and in other areas, including the colon, too. Epidemiologists, who specialize in unlocking the mystery of where, why, and in whom disease occurs, have found that the risk of prostate cancer for black men in America climbs from south to north. When it comes to prostate cancer in black men, the risk is considerably lower in sunny Florida. |

What's most amazing about this study, however, is how researchers have missed the big picture that both prostate cancer and osteoporosis in men have a common cause: lack of exposure to natural sunlight. Sensible exposure to ultraviolet radiation creates vitamin D in the body and prevents both prostate cancer and osteoporosis. Thus, when these two so-called diseases occur simultaneously in a patient, it is not likely mere coincidence. They are, in fact, strongly correlated.
In women, this appears as breast cancer and osteoporosis, or sometimes cervical cancer and osteoporosis. |
| On top of that, I've also completed a new book on prostate cancer entitled, "How to Prevent and Reverse prostate Cancer," which spells out the real solutions to this disease in plain English, without the medical jargon. You'll find that at the Truth Publishing website. |

We finally realized that zinc is highly concentrated in the male prostate, providing a mineral essential for sperm development," Dr. Schauss says. "If a male is under psychological stress, he has storages of zinc in the prostate. Since women don't have prostates, they catab-olize the zinc from other tissue. The richest tissue in the human body for zinc is the muscle tissue. In anorexia, a common feature is muscle wasting. They're actually eating their own muscle tissue as a way of releasing nutrients that they need to survive. |

Although standard medical texts (and insurance companies) do not endorse using PSA as a screen for prostate cancer, it is well known that patients with prostate cancer often have elevated levels of PSA. So when the pilot's PSA rose from normal levels of 1.1 and 1.6 in prior years to 3.9, he became concerned. His doctor told him not to worry since the levels still were within normal limits, but the pilot said he wanted his prostate gland biopsied. This was done, and a tiny area of malignancy was found. |

The apricot kernel contains specific compounds that work to repair the prostate, They should be immediately included into the diet of anyone experiencing prostate troubles. I know of several people who have healed themselves of prostate cancer naturally, and who swear by these kernels. (Prostate issues can be helped by releasing pressure in the colon through enemas and colonics and by eating an alkaline diet).

Returning home, he found a weak prostate reflex on his dad, which was not surprising since he had recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. The new convert to TBM did the correction indicated, and the indicator muscle showed that the prostate reflex was now "fixed." If you leave the story at that point, it is interesting but not earthshaking in its importance. Listen to the rest of the story, though, before you decide. |

Recommendations for maintaining prostate, bladder, and kidney health include thorough prostate examinations every year for men over forty years of age, dietary changes (including avoiding foods with a high fat content), regular exercise, and increased water intake. Enzymes can improve digestion and nutrient absorption, improve circulation, improve digestion of fats, and balance pH levels. |

In early July of 1999, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. A prostatectomy in late July revealed that the cancer had expanded beyond the borders of his prostate and could not all be surgically removed. Once again, he received weekly radiation treatment in the area of his abdomen. After eight weeks of treatment, the cancer had cleared.
"In 2001, the lymphoma returned, this time in his neck. It was removed surgically. Tim again received radiation, though this time it left severe burns on his neck. |

And we also are now working on developing analogs of activated vitamin D specifically to treat colon, prostate and breast cancer.
Adams: These would be oral supplements?
Dr. Holick: These would be, not supplements, but oral drugs.
Adams: OK, so these would be by prescription only. But they're molecularly identical to the activated vitamin D in your body?
Dr. Holick: Exactly, but would be more potent than the activated vitamin D.
Adams: Do you have a practice where people can visit you long distance? I mean, they can come visit you?

| Studies that have been done in the United States and Europe show it can decrease risk of getting colon cancer and dying of colon cancer by 50%, prostate cancer by 50%, ovarian cancer and breast cancer by almost the same amount. The amount of not only money saved, but the amount of grief and pain and suffering that people go through with these serious chronic diseases, potentially could be avoided.
Adams: And are these all topics that you discuss in more detail in the UV advantage book?
Dr. Holick: That's correct. |

Should you be diagnosed with prostate cancer or breast cancer, it's a great idea to also be checked out for symptoms of osteoporosis.
As usual, I strongly urge you to work with a naturopathic physician who can check your current levels of vitamin D and offer a health-enhancing strategy for getting more sunlight, enhancing your circulating levels of vitamin D and improving your health for the rest of your life. |
| Many diseases automatically appear as a result of a deficiency in one or more nutrients, and osteoporosis, prostate cancer and breast cancer are all precipitated by a lack of vibrational nutrition, or natural sunlight. Even vitamin D is not the entire answer to this. Without a doubt there are influences of natural sunlight that go beyond the creation of vitamin D, and thus a discussion of vitamin D alone cannot account for the nutritional deficiency present in these diseases, nor the ability to treat and reverse those diseases through the consumption of nutritional supplements. |

In women, this appears as breast cancer and osteoporosis, or sometimes cervical cancer and osteoporosis. In advanced stages, it can even become osteomalacia, which is a serious deterioration of the bones. Yet, researchers and scientists still manage to miss the big picture. |
| In fact, virtually all the research on osteoporosis, prostate cancer or breast cancer fails to mention sunlight. It is a great disservice to public health for these so-called health experts and researchers to be ignorant of the role sunlight plays in human health.
Also, in this particular study and in the press release describing it, we see distorted language and twisted logic that's characteristic of conventional medicine. Here we see osteoporosis described as a disease that is caused by a hormone regulation problem affecting the rebuilding of bones. |

Benign prostatic hypertrophy occurs in all men as they age, although it is not known why the prostate enlarges over time. Symptoms of prostate enlargement can include frequent urination, especially during the night; pelvic pain; burning; impotence; and difficulty starting and stopping urination. Problems urinating can lead to urine remaining and becoming stagnant in the bladder, causing infection of the bladder and the kidneys. See also bladder infection and kidney stress. |

The pelvic floor muscles are generally ignored by men, with many unfortunate repercussions, including poor urinary control, prostate dysfunction, and diminished sexual performance. In early adulthood, men tend to be highly motivated to achieve orgasm, which is a good thing, as orgasms actually exercise the prostate and surrounding muscles. But for most men, frequency of orgasms diminishes in midlife, which can allow these vital pelvic floor muscles to atrophy and become weak. |

Cancers of the prostate and breast will be the most frequently diagnosed cancers in men and women, respectively, followed by lung and colorectal cancers both in men and in women. Overall, the most common cancers—skin, lungs, breasts, kidneys, colorectal and prostate—are organs of excretion. It's possible that toxin accumulation for purpose of excretion may be a clue as to the connection between toxins and excretory organs. |
