New "Guess This Meat" video shows processed meats up close

Both the video and the website are intended to educate consumers about processed meat products, encouraging them to make healthful food choices when shopping for groceries or consuming food items. Non-processed meat is healthier than processed meats due to the absence of preservative chemicals such as sodium nitrite. Free-range, organic meats are even better, and eliminating meats from the diet is an ideal choice for many people who are wishing to maximize personal health while greatly reducing the environmental impact of the foods they consume.

Don't Buy processed Meat for Christmas: Health Advocate Publishes "Sick, Disgusting" Photos and Video

And to show people exactly what they're getting when they purchase processed meat products, he's posted a shockingly disgusting photo tour of a typical processed meat Christmas gift product: The 48-Oz. Hillshire Farm "Yard-O-Beef" Summer Sausage. The photos are available online right now at: http://www.newstarget.com/phototour_yardobeef_1.
Adams also reminds consumers that if they give gifts made of processed meats, they are indirectly giving people an increased risk of pancreatic cancer and colon cancer. "Giving someone a gift of processed meat is actually more like a curse than a gift," Adams said. "And beyond the cancer issue, there's also the increased risk of heart disease as well as the environmental implications of following a meat-based diet. Getting rid of meat in their diet is the single most powerful thing consumers can do right now to protect the planet against global warming and climate change.

NewsTarget.com releases shocking macrophotography pictures of processed meats: Salami, sausage and hot dogs

To acquire these common processed meat items, I visited the local Wal-Mart and purchased three products off the shelf: Oscar Mayer Cotto Salami Jimmy Dean pork sausage Oscar Mayer Smokies (wieners) I then took each product home, opened it and began taking photos at various magnifications. All the photos shown here are un-edited (no Photoshop) except for adjusting brightness and contrast. These processed meats photos are accurate depictions of the products. Click here to view the photos now.
These macro photos, taken with a Canon Digital Rebel XT and a specialized high-end macro lens, show processed meats from Jimmy Dean and Oscar Mayer in jaw-dropping detail. You'll see blobs of fat, stringy textures, curious color variation of meat parts and black chunks of something we cannot yet identify. They're all available for viewing right now on NewsTarget.com as part of our Photo Tours feature. I took these pictures in my own kitchen (which turned out to be a problem because my kitchen soon reeked of processed meat odors).
As I've covered in previous articles here on NewsTarget, processed meats are linked to an increase in various cancers, including pancreatic cancers, brain tumors and colon cancers. Feeding hot dogs to children, in my opinion, is a form of child cruelty. Allowing these products to remain in the national food supply is, in my opinion, a form of mass chemical poisoning of the public. I believe that most consumers who eat processed meat products do so blindly, without really thinking about what they're eating and where it came from.
Do not view them if you've just eaten processed meats! LEGAL DISCLAIMER: Nothing in these photos is intended to imply that these processed meat products do not meet FDA or USDA regulations. I have no doubt these products meet all minimum government requirements for human consumption. Then again, the USDA openly approves the use of chicken poop as cattle feed, so you can't exactly say that USDA regulators are really interested in food regulations that most intelligent consumers would agree with.

Bacon, sausage, hot dogs and processed meats hike cancer risk by 67% due to chemical preservative, says nutritionist

REPPED: A chemical added to processed meat products is responsible for a 67% increased risk in pancreatic cancer, says author and nutritionist Mike Adams. The conclusions are based in part on research conducted at the University of Hawaii that reveals a 67% increased risk of pancreatic cancer in people who consume large quantities of hot dogs, sausage and other processed meats, versus those who consume little or no processed meat. The study was led by Dr. Ute Nothlings and was announced at the annual gathering of the American Association for Cancer Research.

The real reason why processed meats are so dangerous to your health

Let's take a closer look at these two problems with processed meats. The first problem is found in the fats of these processed meats. The problem isn't the fat molecules themselves, but rather the toxic chemicals, heavy metals and environmental pollutants that are found inside those fat molecules. You see, fat tissues -- whether in a cow or a human -- tend to concentrate whatever pollutants are found in the mainstay diet of the animal. A cow eats literally tons of grass in its lifetime, and in doing so, it collects and concentrates low-level pollutants found in its diet.

Processed Meat Unsafe For Human Consumption; Cancer Experts Warn of Dietary Dangers

It is the first time that any internationally-recognized cancer organization has found the courage to make a partial proclaimation about the health hazards of the chemicals found in processed meat products. It's almost as big a deal as when the American Medical Association, after years of taking millions of dollars from tobacco companies, finally admitted that smoking causes lung cancer and heart disease. (A decade after the scientific evidence was irrefutable, of course, but then again, the AMA was making money off Big Tobacco by running tobacco ads in JAMA...
As awareness of this issue builds, there's going to be increasing political pressure to pass laws that protect the public by strictly limited or banning the use of sodium nitrite in processed meats. The meat industry, of course, which seems to have absolutely no respect for human or animal life, will fight this every inch of the way. The people in charge of meat-producing companies exhibit zero concern for the health of the consumers who actually eat their products, and they remain entirely focused on the profits to be had from selling more toxic meat products to gullible consumers.
Anyone who decides to eat processed meat products on a repeated basis is simply creating a result. That result is cancer, and over enough years, that cancer will grow to the point where it shows up on a scan. That's when the doctor says, "You have cancer" and starts prescribing even more toxic chemicals known as chemotherapy agents. This is not a disease with an unknown cause. In fact, cancer is incredibly easy to both prevent AND cure -- but only if you understand the fundamentals of nutrition.
When you buy processed meats, you put yourself on a timeline track towards disease, suffering and medical victimization. But when you avoid meat products and focus on a plant-based diet, you are creating a future filled of abundance and health. It's up to you to decide which of these futures you'd rather create. Regardless of which future you choose, there's no judgement from me. You're free to do what you want with your life and your own body. Some people choose to abuse their bodies as chemical playgrounds, living in the moment and dying young. That's their choice.
Why some people commit nutritional suicide Of course, many low-income, low-education consumers still continue to smoke cigarettes AND eat processed meat products. (Attend any NASCAR event and you'll find a whole crowd of 'em!) But the smart consumers (who represent the real future of human civilization, by the way) are wising up and increasingly opting for healthier foods made without dangerous chemicals. There are people in society today who exhibit a strong desire to commit nutritional suicide.

For those consumers who still choose to purchase meat, Adams urges them to check the ingredients labels for "sodium nitrite" -- the chemical additive that many researchers believe to be responsible for much of the increased cancer risk of processed meat products. "Eating sodium nitrite is quite simply dangerous to your health," Adams said. "Consumers who still want to eat meat products should look for nitrite-free meats, which are often available in the frozen foods or natural foods section of a grocery store.

Taste inflation revealed: why sugar, salt and fragrance make you stupid

In fact, I've found that people who tend to eat more processed and sugary foods are, indeed, operating at a lower level of intelligence. Maybe stupid people just tend to eat a lot of processed foods, or maybe processed food makes people stupid. Perhaps a whole cycle is set up: Stupid people start eating processed food, it makes them even more stupid, so they buy more processed food; then, they're on a downward spiral. Pretty soon, they're just an average American consumer, zoning out from reality and buying whatever products are advertised on television because they taste good.

What's best? Soy milk, cow's milk, raw milk and fermented milk (kefir)

Thumbs down: processed cow's milk I'm also not thrilled about processed milk from cows. By "processed," I mean homogenized and pasteurized. The pasteurization kills all the beneficial microorganisms, and homogenization artificially modifies dairy fats in a way that ultimately harms the human cardiovascular system when consumed. processed "mainstream" milk is also taken from dairy cows pumped up with antibiotics, rBGH (Bovine Growth Hormone) and usually treated very poorly in terms of ethics.

The real reason why processed meats are so dangerous to your health

Mike Adams, the Health Ranger

The second (and more important) reason processed meats are so strongly correlated with cancer is, I believe, the continued use of a cancer-promoting additive called sodium nitrite. This ingredient, which sounds harmless, is actually highly carcinogenic once it enters the human digestive system. There, it forms a variety of nitrosamine compounds that enter the bloodstream and wreak havoc with a number of internal organs: the liver and pancreas in particular.

Men are waking up to the enormous benefits of natural health and nutrition

Mike Adams, the Health Ranger

It's the men who eat barbequed ribs, pizza, fried foods and processed foods that end up firing blanks at the fertility center or having prostate cancer surgery (which leaves you in a state that can hardly be called "manly," by the way). processed foods devastate reproductive capacity in both men and women, and from a medical viewpoint, nothing takes away the manliness of men faster than following a diet of processed foods. Except, perhaps, surgical castration. But nutritional castration is the next quickest route.
