In previous articles, I've clearly shown that the cancer industry has no interest whatsoever in preventing cancer. The industry, in fact, takes steps to interfere with prevention efforts and thereby ensure the growth in the number of future cancer patients.
The American Cancer Society, for example, still will not recommend that anyone take vitamin D supplements, even though the vitamin can prevent nearly 4 out of 5 cancers. The cancer industry simply has no interest in preventing cancer. It is only interested in treating cancer and profiting from those treatments. |

I was distressed by the general lack of interest among physicians in preventing cancer and heart disease, rather than intervening mechanically once they had struck.
I began reading a great deal of medical literature, with a particular emphasis on epidemiology. There was a beautiful simplicity to the evidence. You looked at a map of the world, and almost all the chronic ailments like coronary disease were crowded into the western countries. Then there were all these other countries, especially in Asia and Africa, where those diseases hardly showed up at all. |

For many products, the amount donated is mere pennies, and much of the donated money goes to worthless cancer maintenance non-profits that have no interest in actually preventing cancer...)
The level of hype and propaganda in this year's breast cancer awareness month has risen to a new low. The American Cancer Society, as usual, appears to be absolutely worthless in all this, still failing to teach women the No. 1 way to prevent a whopping 77 percent of all cancers: Sunlight and vitamin D. |
| In my opinion, the American Cancer Society has no interest whatsoever in actually preventing cancer. In my view, it is only interested in promoting the screening and treatment of cancer because that's what makes money for the financial supporters of the ACS. In fact, the ACS recently restructured its own priorities to focus more on screening and treatment, and less on cancer prevention.
What's missing from the risk factors list?
Hilariously, the ACS now says there are only four major modifiable risk factors that impact your risk of breast cancer. |
| Anyone who disagrees with me must ask the all-important question: If these cancer non-profits are so interested in preventing cancer, why won't they strongly recommend vitamin D which prevents 77 percent of all cancers? Why?
Why do we need to spend billions of dollars each year on "the search for the cure" when we have a substance right now -- available for free -- that prevents nearly 8 out of 10 cancers in the first place? A 77 percent reduction in all cancers sounds like a pretty important milestone to me. |

Ames says cancer research has become distracted with avoidance of cancer-causing chemicals, which may not be relevant to preventing cancer. He says carcinogens are identified in experiments where animals are exposed to hundreds of times more of the suspect cancer-causing chemical than is found in natural human environments. Meanwhile, nutrient deficiencies are a greater cause of DNA damage that can result in cancer. |

This could dramatically improve the health of Americans, providing them with safer, more natural and far more affordable options for preventing cancer, lowering cholesterol, restoring healthy blood sugar levels, beating heart disease and enhancing their health and productivity through the use of honestly-labeled natural health products.

The cancer industry simply has no interest in preventing cancer. It is only interested in treating cancer and profiting from those treatments. (That's why genuine cancer cures have been routinely suppressed, censored or discredited in the United States.) Read my book, Natural Health Solutions and the Conspiracy to Keep You From Knowing About Them, to learn the shocking truth about how the cancer industry really operates in America today.

New research is showing its importance in preventing cancer. We now know that it's essential for bone strength. Sex hormones are made from the stuff. Populations that don't get much sunlight are at greater risk for multiple sclerosis. And now new research is pointing to the fact that physical performance— especially in older folks—is significantly affected by their vitamin D status. This might not be much of a problem except for the fact that more than 25 percent of the population—probably more—is vitamin D deficient.
Let me explain. |

Physicians can tell patients that 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day may be beneficial in preventing cancer and providing sufficient vitamin C intake for healthy people, and that 1000 milligrams or more of vitamin C may have adverse consequences in some people." 1999: Dr. Stephen Barrett, MD, of QuackWatch, publishes his report entitled "High Doses of Vitamin C Are Not Effective as a Cancer Treatment," which dismisses high-dose vitamin C therapy and characterizes Nobel Prize laureate Dr. Linus Pauling as a "health quack. |
| If readers get one message out of this book it is that public health authorities and physicians are remiss in preventing cancer. You will have to take matters into your own hands, you can't rely upon physicians or dieticians who were educated years ago and whose reference books are now outdated.

| Vitamin A, also known as retinoic acid in scientific terms, promotes the maturation of embryonic cells into any of the 200 types of cells in the body, thus preventing cancer. In a laboratory dish, vitamin A demonstrates the ability to slow cancer cell growth and induce tumor cell death. [Prostate 61: 142-52, 2004]
One of the reasons why vitamin A may have not met its promise to prevent or cure cancer is because it works in tandem with vitamin C. |
| The next step in snuffing out inflammation
Pharmaceutical companies think they have come up with a master anti-inflammatory mechanism that may be useful in preventing cancer as well as treating inflammation and pain. Blockage of just one inflammatory enzyme, known as p38, can inhibit most all of the other inflammatory proteins produced in the body, which includes COX-2, TNF alpha, C-Reactive Protein, prostate specific antigen and Interleukin-Ibeta. |

But when it comes to preventing cancer, the cancer industry is silent. Why should they say anything, anyway? If they teach women how to prevent breast cancer, they lose customers. Besides, the scheme they're running right now is working brilliantly. They maximize revenues and profits by preventing prevention and waiting for women to get cancer, then treating them with high-profit pharmaceuticals, radiation and surgical procedures. |

Why won't conventional medicine embrace this low-cost, safe and highly effective method for preventing cancer?
#8: The cancer industry routinely attacks anti-cancer herbs, superfoods and supplements. Why is the cancer industry opposed to anti-cancer nutrition? Why does it believe that only man, not nature, can manufacture anti-cancer medicines?
#9: Dark skin pigmentation blocks ultraviolet radiation, meaning that people with black skin need far more time under the sun to generate the same amount of vitamin D as someone with white skin. |

Although one badly designed study a few years ago seemed to indicate that beta-carotene by itself had no value in preventing cancer, what wasn't well publicized is that the study subjects were heavy smokers and that the beta-carotene given to them was a synthetic kind that behaves quite differently in the body than the real deal. The real lesson from that study is that the carotenoids perform best working as a unit, and should be obtained in their natural—not synthetic —form. According to Walt Willett, Ph.D. |

To be concerned with preventing cancer requires planning for and thinking about what will happen in a few decades. A world facing highly uncertain, potentially cataclysmic, prospects was not inclined to ponder the future.
And then, once the war was over (and a slower, colder war took its place), the old knowledge about cancer hazards fell victim to enthusiasm for modern industrial advances and the social and economic forces that lay behind them. |

As you'll read in many other articles I've written here, it is my firm belief that the cancer industry has no interest whatsoever in preventing cancer, and it primarily interested in treating cancer for profit. This view is generally agreed upon by noted cancer experts such as Dr. Samuel Epstein and Dr. Ralph Moss. See www.PreventCancer.com to learn more from Dr. Epstein. |

No interest in reducing exposure to toxic chemicals
I find it interesting that the cancer industry and the big cancer non-profits still refuse to pursue preventing cancer by supporting the banning of cancer-causing chemicals. They choose to ignore the truth about cancer-causing chemicals in food, beverages, personal care products and in the workplace. They refuse to look at the chemical toxicities that are ever-present in the environment, and instead put their efforts into cancer treatment (because that's where the money is). |

Actually preventing cancer would devastate the industry's profits, costing them billions of dollars in profits they've already banked on! That's why the industry remains so focused on screening and detecting cancer but not preventing it! (Detection makes money, prevention loses money. Get it?)

Substantially preventing cancer would result in a loss of billions of dollars in profits for the oncologists, drug companies, hospitals and clinics that currently prey upon the finances of cancer victims.
The cancer industry is operated like a criminal racket, using false information, intimidation, political pressure and propaganda to protect its power base and keep its corporations profitable. And that, my friends, is exactly why the industry is against the use of sunlight to prevent cancer. Free medicine from the sky? The very thought of it makes the cancer industry cringe. |

And that explains why nobody in Washington seems to express any interest whatsoever in actually preventing cancer in this country. (Trying to get lawmakers to pass a cancer prevention bill is about as useless as trying to get them to pay off the national debt and balance the federal budget.)
With the cancer industry, the entire focus is on "screening" and "treatment." Those terms can be more accurately translated into "recruiting" and "profit-taking. |
| It's because the cancer industry depends on all 100 of those women being diagnosed with cancer and treated with profitable cancer "management" protocols like chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. preventing cancer in 75 percent of women (or more) would deny the cancer industry three-fourths of its revenue. It would shrink the industry, reduce funding, and result in a mass exodus of cancer jobs. Donations would dry up and cancer non-profits (which thrive on the continuation of cancer) would lose big. This is why they won't support cancer prevention that really works. |
| Stating that vitamin D has no useful role in preventing cancer is as hopelessly outdated as claiming the Earth is flat.)
The politics of cancer: Keep 'em sick!
As usual, America's abandonment of the world's best natural anti-cancer medicine has nothing at all to do with science, but everything to do with politics and profits. If vitamin D were a cancer drug made by Pfizer, the American Cancer Society would likely be pushing it as the next "miracle" drug and calling for everyone to be put on the drug. |
| D could drop national cancer rates by more than 75 percent.
New research published this month shows that vitamin D supplementation produces an astonishing 77 percent reduction in all cancers in women, making it the single most effective medicine for preventing cancer that has ever been discovered by modern medical science. The American Cancer Society, however, seems stuck in the nutritional dogma of the 1950's and continues to claim that only drugs, radiation and surgery can treat cancer, and that nutritional supplements have no role to play whatsoever in cancer prevention. |
| Each day that the American Cancer Society, the AMA, the FDA and others in conventional medicine refuse to acknowledge the benefits of vitamin D supplements for preventing cancer, they lose yet more credibility and slip one step closer towards global humiliation and irrelevance. It is difficult to imagine how anyone from conventional medicine can show up at a health event and say, with a straight face, that they're doing everything they can to fight cancer when in reality they are willfully ignoring a prevention medicine that really works: Vitamin D. |
