The helpful crone and fairy godmother is a familiar feature of European fairy lore; in Christian saints' legends the role is commonly played by the Virgin. The Virgin by her intercession can win the mercy of the Father. Spider Woman with her web can control the movements of the Sun. The hero who has come under the protection of the Cosmic Mother cannot be harmed. |

Most men are unaware of a considerable number of studies showing that pollen extract is helpful for symptoms of prostatitis. Nearly half of men using pollen extract report good to excellent results in urinary flow and with prolong used, shrinkage of an enlarged prostate. Common dosage is 126mg per day. Allergies to pollen are often called hay fever.
Also referred to as hay fever, allergic rhinitis is an allergic response of the nasal passages and airways to air or windborne pollens. This disorder shares many common features with asthma. Nearly 75 percent of the hay fever incidences in the United States are a result of ragweed pollen. Other causative factors may include feathers, animal hair, dust and pollen from flowering plants, trees and grasses, and food allergens or sensitivities. |

There are two types of pollen. 1. Gymnophile—pollen that is blown in the air. 2. Entomophile—pollen that is gathered by bees, which contains a small amount of Gymnophile (air carried) pollen. Taking Bee pollen by mouth has helped allergy sufferers to develop an immunity from pollen in the air. Caution: when taking pollen for this reason, it is important to start with very tiny amounts.

However, it should not be confused with pollen from flowers and trees, which can cause allergy symptoms.
Bee pollen is very alkaline. It is approximately 25% protein, and contains at least 18 amino acids. It also has 28 minerals, a full spectrum of vitamins, 11 enzymes or co-enzymes, 11 carbohydrates, and hormones. It has antioxidant properties, making it a scavenger of free radicals caused by exposure to radiation and chemical pollutants.
Bee pollen has been found to enhance energy, stamina, and strength, and to improve the performance levels of athletes. |

Even if they make it out to the flower and collect some pollen, they sort of crash land back in the hive like a damaged fighter jet on an aircraft carrier, spilling their pollen granules all over the inside of the hive and getting their wings stuck in the honey."
But ConPfuzer has promised to come up with a new drug to treat Honeybesity. "Our goal is to end Honeybesity by making beekeepers pay the highest prices in the world for Buzzalin," explained Dr. pollen. "We'll then take the profits from those sales and pay huge bonuses to our shareholders and CEOs. |

Harvesters of bee pollen place devices in the hives that strip the pollen from the bees. Because bee pollen comes from many different flowers, its nutritional value varies. Advocates note that the composition of pollen varies according to the geographic region it comes from and the time of year. Despite variation, pollen is composed of sugar, protein, fat, water, vitamins, and minerals. These ingredients may sound healthy, but please note that bee pollen also contains (sometimes sterilized) insect feces and eggs, rodent debris, fungi, and bacteria. |

Pollen from each different plant has its own shape, size, protein coat, and resonance, making it unique to its own kind so that when a pollen grain of a different kind of plant lands on the stigma, no interaction takes place, and, conversely, when identical proteins engage, resonance matching (vibrating at the same frequency) occurs and the process of pollination begins.
Flowers have developed elaborate ways to attract pollinators to them. Some have bright colors, some have strong perfume, while others raise their temperatures. |

At the same time, antibody production and efficiency, which have already been suppressed because of dehydration, will be inadequate to deal with foreign agents such as pollen and other antigens. The enormity of this problem becomes apparent during the pollen season when the eyes get invaded with these foreign agents. The tear-producing glands need to wash the offending pollen away from the delicate membrane of the eye— the conjunctiva—since antibodies are not adequately available to neutralize the pollen. |

Ingesting traces of pollen found in honey could desensitize you to allergies the same way pollen injections (allergy shots) do. But until recently it seemed doubtful that the pollen in honey would survive digestion to reach the blood stream.
However, a physician, Dr. U. Wahn of the Heidelberg University Children's Clinic, found that children who drank a pollen solution showed fewer signs of hay fever and allergy-related asthma. Seventy allergy-prone children drank a solution containing pollen daily during hay fever season and three times a week in the winter. |

Ragweed pollen accounts for about 75 percent of the hay fever in the United States. Other significant pollens inducing hay fever include various grass and tree pollens. If the hay fever develops in the spring it is usually due to tree pollens; if it develops in the summer, grass and weed pollens are usually the culprits.
Many studies indicate that food allergies play an important role in asthma and hay fever.1 Adverse reactions to food may be immediate or delayed. |

You are able to clearly view the sexual parts of the plant and observe in more detail the pistil, stamens, and pollen. Sometimes the pollen may be iridescent, filled with sparkles and reflections from the light, or maybe it is sticky, clinging to your nose as you bend close. Observing how a plant reproduces reveals valuable information about its nature. Many flowers have male and female parts within the same flower, others have a male flower and a female flower on the same plant, while others may have separate female and male plants. |

In truth, this test is only useful for identifying allergens that cause immediate reactions, such as pollen or dust, and is less than effective in pinpointing food reactions. Another common test procedure is the RAST (radioallergosorbent test). This blood test is useful for diagnosing allergies to pollens, dust, molds, bee venom, and other allergens.

As an example, it is now being discovered that pollen from genetically modified corn can kill monarch butterflies.23 There is long-term concern that pollen from bio-engineered crops will spread and kill beneficial insects as well as create strains of superweeds that are totally-resistant to pesticides.
Genetic engineering is changing the composition of foods, and most North American consumers are uninformed on the issue of bio-engineered crops. In Britain and Europe, there is widespread awareness and opposition to the introduction of genetically altered foods. |

The herbs are extracted with a water and acetone mixture, yielding a product with an herb-to-extract ration of 2.5:1. This extract has been the subject of numerous pharmacologic studies. |

If you have hay fever, then inhaling certain pollen molecules sets off a chemical chain reaction in your body. You experience the effects of that reaction as a runny nose and watery, itchy eyes. There is nothing inherently wrong with your body chemistry. It is working perfectly, responding to protect your body from the allergen, which it considers to be a foreign substance. What is wrong is the information your body is processing. Your body somehow mistook harmless pollen molecules for harmful invaders, and your immune system mounted a defense. |

Feverfew is a plant producing pollen and also a must to avoid if you suffer from pollen-related allergies (Source: Journal of the British Society for Allergy and Clinical Immunology, January 1991, pages 55-62). This cleanser contains only a tiny amount of feverfew extract and so poses less of a problem, especially because it isn't left: on the skin. With a gentle base and an array of skin-identical ingredients (though these are not particularly helpful for skin in a cleanser), this is a good option for normal to slightly dry skin. |
