We will do it all, of course, with the same standard we apply to covering nutritional products: no payola.
It's a simple ethical standard, really. And I consider it fundamental to the issue of credibility. If some other website is talking about the benefits of their nutritional products -- while earning big profits on the sale of those products -- then how can you really trust what they're saying? They're obviously not independent. They have a profit agenda.
Of course, we do sell books and information products, but we draw the line when it comes to nutritional products. |

Don't you find it curious that the FDA has raided lots of vitamin companies and confiscated countless truckloads of nutritional products, but has never (to my knowledge) conducted an armed raid on a major pharmaceutical company and confiscated the brand-name prescription drugs that are actually killing people?
The truth is, the FDA treats Big Pharma with kid gloves. It even "negotiates" with drug companies to decide on how, and when, and at what size safety warning labels should be printed. |

Given that we don't take money for recommending nutritional products, and we don't charge companies to write about their products, we depend very heavily on advertising revenue and book sales to fund our operations.)
One additional benefit to authors is that each article includes an author byline section where authors can include links to their own websites, names of books or organizations they're working with, and other details. This allows authors to publicize themselves and their projects at the bottom of each article that appears on NewsTarget.com. |

These are nutritional products I use myself. In fact, I highly recommend their Rejuvenate! product, a high-RNA superfood product based on chlorella, chia seeds, nutritional yeast, spirulina and other key ingredients. It's a powder that blends well with a chocolate avocado smoothie (or any avocado smoothie), adding a powerful dose of plant-based medicine to any smoothie drink. Learn more about this product at: http://www.integratedhealth.com/hpdspec/rejuvenate.html
I also highly recommend their 2DOCS supplements for pets. |

The FTC even forced him into a settlement where he could no longer sell nutritional products. That's what eventually led Trudeau to write his Natural Cures books, which are now probably the most commercially successful books ever sold via infomercials.
The FTC, it seems, wants to keep targeting Trudeau regardless of what he sells. |

On the other hand, if you choose to supplement with good nutritional products, then you can multiple the results of any exercise program and experience improved bone density, enhanced cardiovascular health, improved mood and emotional health, prevention of cancer and diabetes, natural reduction in stored body fat and many other phenomenal benefits. Exercise is the single most powerful medicine for enhancing your health, but if you exercise in a nutritionally deficient state, you're only putting unnecessary biochemical stresses on your body. |

Mike: That is one of the things that is not readily visible to the consumers on nutritional products. For example, how are the raw materials handled or tested? What is the percentage of excipients and fillers that go into formulas? They do not have to be listed in the same way on the label. What are some of the concrete steps that you take to maximize the quality, or the purity, or the safety of the raw materials that you use?

Recommended anti-cancer products
The most powerful anti-cancer formula I have yet discovered in four years of writing about hundreds of nutritional products is called Blood Support, sold by the Baseline of Health Foundation: www.BaselineNutritionals.com
It tastes absolutely terrible, but contains the most powerful combination of high-potency anti-cancer herbs that I know of. |

Over the next 12 hours, they seized thousands of items, including nutritional products, files, and documents, including 5,000 newsletters that were about to be mailed to subscribers. Computers and telephones were reportedly, "…ripped from the wall," and agents seized anything they could find regardless of whether such items were actually named in the search warrant. Later analysis revealed that 80 percent of the seized items were never named in the warrant.
Not surprisingly, the entire legal basis for the raid was fraudulent to begin with. The search warrant, issued by Magistrate Lurana S. |

A wide range of alternative treatments, including diet, nutritional products, herbal supplements, and other interventions, are providing therapeutic options. CAM approaches are so entrenched that, in 2006, The New York Times reported that 48 percent of adults in America used at least one alternative or complementary therapy during 2004. Billions of dollars are spent each year out of pocket since medical insurance often does not cover these nonconventional approaches. |

The 1963 Church of Scientology raid
In the early 1960s, the FDA got word of something it didn't like: The Church of Scientology was helping its members overcome mental problems with the use of a simple biofeedback device called the E-meter. With the market for psychotropic drugs so consistently profitable, and with Scientology gaining momentum in helping millions of people overcome severe emotional and mental problems, this E-meter had to be taken out of play… and fast! |

Herbs are inexpensive, especially when compared to the retail price of pharmaceuticals, and companies that market pharmaceutical and nutritional products would find it very difficult to profit from expensive herbal research. It is difficult, although not impossible, to patent herbal products, and without this type of legal protection, few companies are willing to invest significant amounts of money into herbal product research.
When examining herbal research, the following problem areas should be kept in mind:
1. |

#10 Require food manufacturers to list acrylamides, pesticides and heavy metals content on the label

Of course, we do sell books and information products, but we draw the line when it comes to nutritional products. That's why our recommendations carry so much weight across the industry. |

| EXPLANATION
Barbara Schneeman, director of the FDA's Office of nutritional products, Labeling and Dietary Supplements, says the reason the FDA is allowing foods containing less than 0.5 g of trans fats to be rounded down to 0 is that current detection methods for trans fats are not very reliable for amounts less than 0.5 g.
However, nutritionist Samantha Heller, from New York University Medical Center, takes a different view. "I don't understand why that's acceptable. It will add up over time." she says. |
| Trans Fat on Food Labels: Now You See It, Now You Don't
Barbara Schneeman, PhD, director, Office of nutritional products, Labeling and Dietary Supplements, US Food and Drug Administration.
Samantha Heller, MS, RD, senior clinical nutritionist, New York University Medical Center, New York City.
The latest US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) rules allow manufacturers to list "0 trans fats" on the labels of foods that have less than 0.5 grams (g) of trans fats per serving. |

If anything, the FTC seems a lot more interested in eliminating competition to pharmaceutical companies by threatening sellers of nutritional products or alternative medicine products. Together with the FDA, they've turned the United States into a health wasteland, where consumers are forced to pay profiteering prices for synthetic chemicals that only harm their health while being denied access to the natural products that could actually save their lives.

Recommendations include liver detoxification, the addition of enzymes to a well-balanced diet, and supplemental nutritional products to improve one's overall digestion and absorption of nutrients. In addition, avoiding excess exposure to the sun and nutritional support of the hormonal and immune systems would be beneficial. |
| These steps include eating a well-balanced diet high in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and nutrients; regular exercise; stress management; nutritional support of the hormonal and immune systems; and the addition of enzymes and supplemental nutritional products to optimize digestion and absorption of nutrients and improve the body's ability to eliminate free radicals. I also strongly recommend managing calorie intake, fasting four times a year, and eating plenty of raw food (see the nearly ideal diet on page 31). |
| Recommendations for the recovering alcoholic include liver and blood detoxification; eating a well balanced diet with the addition of enzymes, minerals, antioxidants, and supplemental nutritional products to strengthen overall digestion and absorption of nutrients (particularly B vitamins, which many alcoholics are deficient in); and adding probiotic supplements to restore the microflora of the intestines. Aside from improved digestion and nutrient absorption, enzymes can also balance the pH of the body, strengthen the immune system, reduce inflammation, and help detoxify the body. |

You will often find one or more of these herbs in combination herbal and nutritional products that have been specifically formulated for PMS symptom relief.
Exercise
Specific exercises are conspicuously absent from scientific studies looking at the effects of exercise on PMS. In contrast, although mechanisms of action remain elusive, general regular physical exercise has been the subject of several controlled trials. In all of these, the results show that women who exercise regularly have less strong or fewer PMS symptoms. |

If you were to put all of the medical advances made since the beginning of recorded history into a twenty-four-hour time period, the medical evidence presented in this book would have occurred within the last five or six seconds. This is cutting-edge medical research. Most physicians and health-care practitioners have yet to come on board and make this research practical for the average, everyday person. |

Founded by Alan Friedman, a fitness enthusiast and family-oriented nutrition consumer, Good Cause Wellness not only offers some hard-to-find nutritional products that I personally use every day, they also donate 10 percent of net sales to health freedom organizations that fight for your right to buy nutritional supplements. Note that this donation is not 10 percent of profits, it's 10 percent of net sales (a much bigger number). They'll also be publicly posting those donations as proof of their commitment to supporting these important consumer advocacy organizations. |
