Simmer the mixture about 45 minutes longer. Remove the chicken. The chicken is not used further for the soup. (The meat makes excellent chicken parmesan.)
With a measuring cup or ladle, scoop the broth and vegetable mixture into a food processor or blender. Puree the mixture in batches, setting the pureed mixture aside while pureeing the next batch. When all vegetables have been pureed, return the pureed soup to the pot and add salt and pepper to taste. Note: The soup freezes well.

Diffusion is the mechanism by which components of a mixture are transported around the mixture by means of random molecular (Brownian) motion (cf. permeation: the ability of a diffusant to pass through a body - dependent on both the diffusion coefficient, D, and the solubility coefficient, S, ie, permeability coefficient, P = D.S). Flynn et al. cite Berthalot as postulating, at the beginning of the nineteenth century, that the flow of mass by diffusion (ie, the flux), across a plane, was proportional to the concentration gradient of the diffusant across that plane. When Infoceuticals are combined, as they are in the Star Infoceuticals, they are not merely an additive mixture of the ingredients but instead form whole new complexes. To use an analogy, when you mix blue and yellow dyes, you don't get a swirling mass of blue and yellow streaks. You get green dye. The Star Infoceuticals work in a similar way, creating something new from a mixture of ingredients. For this reason, and others, NES clients are cautioned by their practitioners never to mix different Infoceuticals in the same glass of water but always to take them separately. |

I do not recommend the use of straight vitamin A because of its potential toxicity, instead supplement with a mixture of mixed carotenoids. Garotenoids become vitamin A in the body as the body has need and they have no toxicity problems.
It is important to have a mixture of carotenoids rather than taking only beta-carotene. |

Naturopathic therapies include dietary and lifestyle changes, clinical nutrition (nutritional supplementation), botanical medicine (herbs), homeopathy, Chinese medicine and acupuncture, hydrotherapy, manipulation, physical therapies, psychotherapy, and minor surgery. We also recognize the judicious use of prescription medications when the benefits exceed the risks, integrated into a comprehensive naturopathic health-care plan. |

In other words, the magic of vitamin E may arise from the mixture of its various forms (found in food); thus, focusing on one type misses the combined effect. For example, in one recent study, researchers compared two groups to see how vitamin E affected the clumping together of blood particles that can lead to blood clots, a process known as platelet aggregation. |
| After all, the human diet is a highly complex mixture of foods, each comprising a unique blend of components and natural chemicals. As researchers have begun to see patterns emerge that show how various food components actually work together to yield even greater health benefits, the study of nutrition has been taken to a higher level. It's almost as if a new language is being spoken. From my perspective, looking at nutrition with an eye toward synergy takes us closer to the truth. And isn't that what the study of nutrition is all about? |

| Dietary folic acid is a mixture of folates in the form of polyglutamates, which are readily destroyed by cooking. Higher levels of dietary folate intake has been shown in some cases to decrease the incidence of neural tube defects, but women hereditarily predisposed to such defects may need to take in more folic acid through supplements in order to reach optimal levels.31 Folic acid can be found in green leafy vegetables, nuts, whole grains, liver, watercress (avoid in first trimester), parsley, and dandelion. |
| Calcium absorption will also be significantly increased when the diet is supplemented daily with fish oil, evening primrose oil, a mixture of both, or sunflower oil.52 Deficiencies of EFAs modify bone fatty acid levels and have profound effects on the degree of mineralization of the bone. This is observed in animals fed EFA-deficient diets, who develop osteoporosis. The role of EFAs is discussed in much more detail in the nutritional supplement section of this chapter.
